You get what you pay for...
Thus far, I have used one of the 12 and it seems to be of poor quality (I thought all hooks were created equal but, not so!). The yarn is catching/snagging on the inside of the hook and the end of the hook is not sharp/pointed enough (because it is so rounded, it is difficult to sort through the thread with it). Hopefully, its just this one of the 12! Handle is nice!

I've used the smaller hooks, 3.5mm to 5.5mm, to make various parts of an amigurumi bear and the larger hooks, 6.5mm to 8mm, on blankets. I find the shape fits nicely in my hands. I have large hands and use a knife hold. Some hooks end short and poke my palm and dent give me enough control, but these are long enough. The grips don't slip off either. I naturally crochet on the tight side, and when making amigurumi, I crochet very tightly, which can make my hands cramp and cause soreness in my hand and wrist joints. I've spent hours using these and have found them to be very comfortable. I've had no issues with burrs and the metal is plenty smooth. Another plus is that this set comes with some larger hooks, including a 7mm, which, for some reason, seems to be excluded from alot of sets like it's the 13th floor of a building. This is a good set for a beginner wanting tools to get started and try out crocheting without making a huge investment. Even if you have hooks that you love, it's still a good backup set to use if your hands need an occasional change of hook shape or to take along somewhere.Tessa
