Carnation malted mix powder not only tastes fabulous, but provides malt barley, an excellent source of vitamins and one that was recommended to me for a boost to my health. Put in as little or as much as you like. It will give you that "old malt shop" feeling when added to your milk shakes.

    Homemade Malts
    My family and I have been using this since I was very young to make our own homemade chocolate malts or as others call it milkshakes. Ironically my 3 year old has loved to have malts with her daddy since she was only a year or so old but this has become very difficult to find. Luckily I found it on walmart.com and had 2 shipped right to our door. Thank you!

    Good product.
    Like the smell and taste. Instead of drinking tea or coffee or hot chocolate all the time, a cup of hot malted milk is a nice change. The price though, is a bit steep.

    Time for old-fashioned hand-stirred malts!
    My mom and I were reminiscing about how her mom used to treat us to hand-stirred malts. I started looking for malt so we could make some for old times sake. Finally found it and cant wait to share it with my mom. We need to keep good memories alive while creating new ones.

    I loved finding this on Walmart.com because it is NOT in my local supermarket! I made tasty chocolate milk for my grandson, but I must say that the depth of flavor it added to my fluffy chocolate frosting was just PHENOMENAL!! I sent a leftover 1/2 pint jar home with my daughter just to dip vanilla wafers or graham crackers in, it was just that good. I bought this item to bake a cookie recipe I saw in a magazine, but I haven't even gotten to that, and I'm willing to give this 5 stars as a great addition to your baking pantry. If I were a milkshake person, could I give it 7??

    Mix 4 large spoons with a little (1-2Tab) of milk.... and dissolve really good... then mix in lots of vanilla icecream..... it is the best malt you will ever indulge in.... and they are so expensive to buy.. quick and easy to do....... happy eating....

    This is a classic product by a quality manufacturer. Get that old time flavor, just add one tablespoon malted milk and one tablespoon chocolate syrup to a glass of milk for that olt time malt shop flavor, good stuff.

    This is really delicious!
    I ordered one jar of this malted barley powder and the stuff is just so delicious I can eat it in powdered form straight from a spoon. It tastes like malted milk candy without the chocolate. I tried 3 Tbsp. of it with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, vanilla extract, and 8 oz. milk placed in a blender on high, and that was delicious as well for a milkshake. So now I am back to buy an entire case of it, as a 13 oz. jar doesn't last long at all. This is one of those products you never want to run out of in your pantry. Barley is good for you. It's one of those superfoods that you can tell a difference in your energy levels and vitality when you eat it. Barley flakes are another good product to cook in chicken or beef broth and eaten for breakfast or as a side dish or snack. By not cooking whole grains in water and using chicken or beef broth, it gives them great flavor. Barley is something people need to eat more of daily when they need more energy or vitality for life. Grape Nuts cereal is also made from barley, which is a whole grain. Try cooking oats in broths as well and use them for a side dish in a savory form.
