Rocking turntable plate
Pros: looks good, makes food and coffee hot enough, price Cons: glass turntable rocks so much that liquids would be dumped I was going to return this item because the turntable rocked so much, but then I had an inspiration; I used the glass plate from my previous microwave, and the problem was solved, since the plate was a little heavier and slightly wider and the mate to the trefoil that turns the plate was much snugger. I don't know if the engineers were saving a cent or two on the glass or what, but this problem was so easily solved that I can't believe it was a problem for consumers in the first place! There is one other issue; the button to open the door is cheap and funky and doesn't depress evenly.

    very nice Hamilton Beach microwave
Nice size. The buttons are a little smaller than I'm used to but it should be easy enough to adjust to them. It heats very well and quickly. It is a little noisier than our last one but we'll have to get used to that. The turntable is a very good size so no more worrying if your plate will fit, odds are it will fit nicely. It's a nice microwave and so far it seems like it was a great deal for $70

Better than I thought it would be
After reading a few reviews I was hesitant about ordering this. But i figured I can always return it. I found most of the complaints unfounded. Easy to read buttons, much larger than i thought. The express button is for 30 seconds, just hit it twice and you get a minute, not a big deal. I like that it will not change what you punch in 75 is 75 seconds not 7 and a half minutes like my last one did. The popcorn timer is settable, a nice touch if you use one brand of popcorn. I do recommend reading the booklet, it explains how each of the settings work. i like the big bright blue lighting of the clock/timer easy to read even with my bad eyes. For 60 bucks a pretty good deal.

    Average rating for one reason.
This is a nice size for one or two people but don't plan to use for large groups. Not too heavy and fits in small area. But the "timer" function only beeps once and if you don't happen to be standing next to it you can miss it! I use my timer when cooking on stove so a couple of times things cooked too long. My previous microwave had a timer that beeped until it was turned off. This one-beep timer isn't helpful.

    Great bang for your buck!
I bought this for my office at work so I am not COOKING in it but rather heating stuff up, making popcorn, and brewing tea in the afternoon. It heats quickly and has plenty of room for a full plate of food. There is a turntable, a clock, a timer and express buttons...really everything you could want. I could not find anything lower priced with the room and wattage of this microwave.

    It's a microwave!
It was bigger than I anticipated, but I had a larger one, and I think when I was looking for this one, I just pictured a bigger size drop. No worries, I am able to adjust, this was not the fault of the product, just my image. I read several reviews on this prior to purchase and went with it anyway. Hamilton Beach has mostly been pretty good to me as a brand on whole (notwithstanding the whole broken coffee maker debacle, but as they cleaned it up without issue, I digress) so I went with my gut on this purchase and gave it a try. As I normally do with any purchase, I read my instruction pamphlet from cover to cover BEFORE I used the product. Interesting how I giggled at a few of the remembered complaints of previous reviewers as I read how to fix issues the had (i.e. popcorn button time can actually be reset based on size of bag you normally pop in your microwave). Once again, I digress. Once I had read my pamphlet and had my children read it, we began using it. I see no problems with it thus far. My oldest is having a few issues changing to defrosting by weight or minutes versus the old microwave having a specific meat type button and not worrying any further, but beyond that, the only worry is my kids slamming the door or pushing the button too hard and breaking it before it wears out naturally on us due tohow light weight it is (the only reason it was docked a star)... If I run into any REAL problems with it in the meantime, I will be back to change the review.

    Great unit
Wasn't sure about this microwave at first with some negative reviews I read. After having used this awhile I love it. It cooks everything completely. You do have to stir half way through if thick food item your reheating. The size is perfect & holds a large casserole dish. The light comes on when you open the door unlike the Panasonic I looked at. My 2 big gripes is the noise it makes from the turning plate. Can't figure out why it make such a racket. The other is figuring out how to push button for minutes only like a 3 minute time for a cup of water. You have to push the set button for a drink then hit it again when it's done cause it only heats for 2 mins which isn't hot enough for me. The instructions were confusing in that area but I'm still fiddling with it in hopes I can figure it out on my own. I love the fact that the top inside wall doesn't have any exposed heating element like the Emerson I had before cause food would get splattered on it & start to spark. I'm hoping this lasts longer than 5 yrs like the Emerson cause I hate replacing thing every few years.

    Great Product - Small Price
This microwave is a great value. I have paid more for microwaves that aren't any better than this one. The commands are easy to understand. It works like it should and who could ask for more. The shipping was free and it was delivered to my door. Really happy with the purchase.
