Acer KC271U 2560x1440 - Excellent Choice
I received this item for the purpose of review. First of all, let me say WOW. We selected this monitor for my husband's race game. He is old school and races from CD. His previous monitor was a much older flat screen 24 inch. It was very "cloudy" and fuzzy with a VGA connection. This ACER monitor is a 27 inch model with ONLY HDMI ports. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO VGA PORT on this monitor. Your PC must have at least 1 HDMI port on it for connection. No HDMI cable was included but the DP cable was. He has 1 HDMI port on his computer tower and this needs to go HDMI to HDMI in order to work. I tested with a USB to HDMI adapter but it DID NOT WORK with this monitor. Keep that in mind. When I used his only HDMI, monitor had immediate connection & worked perfectly. This is a flat screen not a curved model. However, viewing from the side is also very sharp and very good. There are TWO HDMI ports on back & ONE DP port. Plus there is a headphone jack on back. I believe that jack could also be used for more speakers but he already has USB external speakers from his tower. I had to reinstall the speakers and test them first but once I did that, the monitor is full-on stereo. There are several settings for screen resolution right on the monitor and I chose racing. Also included were standard, movie, graphics, etc. Viewing is very sharp and it can be easily changed by clicking on the monitor's control buttons on front. This is also my husband's personal computer so he will be able to surf the web and watch his guitar instructional videos perfectly. I left it on the RACING setting and it was a nice large screen. Great with speakers. Viewing is sharp and very impressive when tested on various websites. CON: When using monitor speakers alone, typical horrible sound...even when cranked to the highest level on the volume. V-shaped stand is LARGE. Make sure you are allowing enough desk space for it to spread out. My husband's desk is small and he has his keyboard and steering wheel attached. Right now we have the keyboard basically just lying on top of the feet of the stand. We will have to fix that but for the purpose of testing & reviewing, it was fine. Monitor is easily tilted up & down manually with a gentle tug to adjust. However, overall, after some tweaking, I'm very impressed. I probably will never be able to pry him away from it now. :) Thanks Walmart & Acer!

Good for home use
I was disappointed in this monitor. The reviews spoke of how well it reacted to gaming. However, it was not as fast as the son's small monitor. Husband has been using it for his CAD programs, & it works well for that.

    Very very nice monitor. Beautiful sleek design and mount perfect on arms. Some people dont rtfm so they have no clue that DP cable and hdmi 2.0 only do 144hz and that older hdmi cables do 70hz max. Gsync works with it beautifully. Its just amazing for $300

    Amazing picture
    My son was so happy when this arrived. He is big into the gaming world. This screen is so nice. It has a high def picture that doesn't disappoint. The screen has a 1ms response time which according to my son is a great feature to have during gaming experiences. The stand is sturdy and it has a tilt feature. The screen also has hdmi hookups for your gaming needs. I love how the screen is fully used so it's nothing but picture when looking at the monitor. Overall I am pleased with this monitor. Well worth the money. My son obviously is in love with it as I have not seen him in a few hours due to his new gaming experience. Also this monitor come packaged very well I have no doubt that it won't break durning shipping as it's packed very neatly and safely.

    Really good computer screen
    This is a 27 inch computer monitor. This is a large screen. The screen is bright and has really good color. The back of the monitor is smooth and is able to be placed on a desk that doesn't have to be against a wall and it will still look good. An issue we had with the monitor was where the port is to plug in the power cord and video cords in. There is a ridge you have to fit your fingers in and it is so deep that it's difficult to see where the plugs go. If this ridge and crevice were shallower, it would have been better. The power and adjustment buttons are in the bottom right hand corner. There are not speakers in the monitor. The screen is a smooth black color that looks really good on and off. The base is big sturdy and large. It takes up a little too much room on my desk. One of the supports for the base goes back too far, and I can't push it back against a wall as closely as I'd like. There is almost no edge to the computer screen. The glass goes almost all the way to the edge. But the edge that is there is a flimsy cheap plastic. Both sides of the monitor actually bow out slightly due to the cheap plastic. It's not noticeable unless you're looking closely. The motion and quick movements on videos and games on the monitor are very good. The picture keeps up and focuses very quickly. This is a really good monitor.

    Very detailed, works for use as a tv too
    This monitor seems to live up to all its promises. The picture quality is very real. Bright vibrant colors, smooth transitions, etc. I'm not a huge gamer and idk all the terms, but this monitor is A+++ on graphics. It's adjustable, lightweight, multiple HDMI ports, huge viewing screen. I would recommend this monitor.

    This game monitor is so fast at refreshing games the kids win more games and battles , we love it ! It is a nice large monitor that is almost frame less with a wide screen with brilliant colors .Playing xbox is like having a new system winning more and being able to see actions on the very wonderful color screen .This monitor takes you to a much better gaming experience .Everyone gathers around to see how fast the screen lets the kids win with the greatest action refresh they ever had .There is a lot of technical information on the box and paper work and it is so true .More colors,more easy wins in all the games .Large screen mqkes it imersing ,more surounded by the game .The only drawback is sound it puts out low sound so maybe get a sound bar to go with the great screen . I gave 5 stars deven tho sound is low the picture is the very best for gaming . Plenty of ports for any game you play .

    OH MY 27" OF GOODNESS!
    This monitor was sent to me by Walmart to try out & review. I LOVE THIS MONITOR! I am NOT a gamer, but as I get older it is harder for me to see everything clearly on my 17" Laptop computer screen. Well, this was just what I needed! I set it up out of the box quite easily, connected the base/stand, plugged in the power cord & the HDMI Cable - ran the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on my Laptop & BAM! I am looking at 27" of AWESOME! I did not use or need the DP (Display Port) Cable. Neither my Laptop or old Desk Top computer even have a DP port (it does the same thing as the HDMI Cable, but it is a bit bigger & needs the bigger port) I'm sure if you are a gamer, you know what a DP Cable and Port are & you probably have them on your system. The picture quality on this is excellent. I do a lot of picture taking & uploading of all kinds of photos to keep in files on my computer and this makes seeing every little detail so much easier. I've only had this set up for a couple hours but I am VERY HAPPY! Acer is a brand I am familiar with & I'm sure this product will give me YEARS of use & enjoyment. Wow! I can't wait to use this monitor when the Olympics roll around next year. Sometimes there are events that can only be watched online - having this larger screen will make that a pleasure. I give it 5 Stars ***** and a BIG THUMBS UP! Totally recommend it.

    Acer 27 Inch Gamer Monitor
    This monitor is absolutely fantastic! It has complete screen viewing which makes playing a game so much better. It is a TN Monitor with AMD FREESYNC Technology (1 x Display Port & 2 x HDMI Ports ). A very modern monitor with an attractive style, extremely easy to hook up and start using. The color and graphics are exceptional, so much better than the monitor I was using before receiving this one. Included instructions on connecting the monitor are easy to read and understand, I had the monitor up and running within 15 minutes. I play a game called 'SuperCity' and with this monitor my game is so much more vivid and everything enhanced that it is more pleasurable now more than before. The monitor is lightweight and easy to handle. Seems to be gentle on the eyes, at least it feels like that and that is important since I play my game several times a day. I love this monitor and recommend it to everyone.
