Sloppy engineering and manufacture
The set arrived over several days which was good because it took a full hour to assemble each chair. There are many warnings throughout the packaging about following instructions VERY carefully. That's because it is VERY tempramental. The table went together more easily except that one piece was cut too long making one leg assembly impossible. At that point I decided to trim the long piece which wasn't too easy. After reshimming the leg now fits. Summary: badly engineered and sloppy manufacturing. We will see how long it lasts. Bought a cover to protect it. Hopefully that will help. BTW chairs are not made for large people.
