    I ordered this train set for my adult friend who, as it turns out, has wanted an electric train set his entire life. He was so happy that I got the Bachmann for his Christmas gift that the smile hasn't left his face yet!

    My son is pleased
    My 6 year old loves the train! The only bad thing is that it is extremely hard to get the train lined up on the tracks and they come off easily. The track was easy to assemble, the little building and bridge however is not put together because it is so fragile and comes apart very easy. But all in all, my son loves it and is very happy with this train.

    Great train!
    I purchased this train for my 9 year old son, as his first electric train. I wanted to give him a train that he could add to, as he grows older, which is why I went with an HO gauge train. With that being said, I will mention that getting the cars lined up on the track properly can be a little bit tricky, due to their small size, and I would imagine for some kids his age, that might be frustrating. Once you get them lined up, however, it runs great. This train does have a light, and smoke comes out of the stack, which my son LOVES! We will definitely be purchasing more track and additional cars in the future. I will also say that I found the exact same train at two or three other retailers, for twenty to thirty dollars more, so Walmart.com had the best price, by far.

    Awesome little train set!
    This train set is the perfect starter set. Comes with everything you need! I love the light and smoke on the engine. This looks great under our Christmas tree and our littlec ones love to watch it.

    I bought this for my 8-year-old grandson. I think it works well and so far this HO-gauge set has stood up to his manhandling of it considerably better than the Lionel "Thomas" O-gauge train I bought for him two years ago. Whereas the O-gauge said "8 and older", I discovered this Bachman HO-gauge train is suggested for "14 and older." I don't know why. The picture on the box suggests it is for a younger child unless the child in the picture is a very babyish 14. Could be. Lots of accessories and signs which made it appealing to my grandson. The only limiting factor is the wordy instructions and their limited application. While assembly of the accessories is not rocket science, the instructions address assembly NONE of them - not the station, the platform, or the signal bridge - NONE of them. The signal bridge in particular could use some assembly instructions.
