Works great!
I created my own on-the-ground, two level birdbath using two large planter saucers on a rock outcropping. The first overflows into the second. I placed the dripper outside the top saucer and arranged rocks around it to retain the natural look. It was so easy to set up and I can vary the drip depending on how much water has evaporated from the saucers.

works as advertised
Set Avian Dripper up on deck rail mounted bird bath. After a week or so, really did attract a lot of birds. Some birds come for bathing, others just for a drink, like Carolina Chickadees who land on copper spout and drink as drops of H2O come out. As suggested by another reviewer, just added an automatic water timer to the system. Found a timer (Orbit Watermaster 91250) that could be set to release water every 2 hrs for about 30 minutes. Dripper with timer seems to be working ok so far. Before getting timer, constant drip of Avian Dripper 24/7 would fill a 5 gallon bucket in about a day and the grassy area below bath got pretty sloshy and muddy. Hoping area below will dry out a bit with not so much water coming out.

Better than a bird bath fountain!
I have known that birds are attracted to moving water. I have seen birds drink from dripping hose faucets before. So I had high expectations for this dripper. I have three home made bird baths with no water movement that birds have been using just fine. I wanted to make it more attractive to them so I got this dripper. To be truthful I first put this on the back side of my bird bath dish that was on a stand. It seemed to make them not want to use that dish because it was so tall, it seemed to frighten them off. So I moved it to one of my lower dishes and placed it outside the dish on the ground to drip into the dish. That seemed to do the trick. The birds come to the dish with this dripper just fine and even land on it and drink from it. It has very difficult to understand the directions if you are not familiar with water lines and their connections. I asked my husband to help and he knew exactly how it all went together without using directions and it was so much more simple than the directions made it out to be. It is impossible to get the drip at one drip per minute. In fact I can only get it to a drip about every 4 seconds. But that is nice for the birds and doesn't overflow the water dish either so it is good. Also I went and bought a brass Y connector for the hose faucet. The plastic one included is very cheap and easily cross threads. All in all once set up it is a very nice feature to add to our bird baths. Better than a bird bath fountain! I don't have to run power to a pump and I don't have to worry about water running dry. When I mow the grass I just take the dripper, line and all and set it by the hose bib and replace it when done. Never have to disconnect it from the water source or change settings of the drip. Nice easy set up.

    Bird Bath Dripper
I love this drip. My husband put it together for me in minutes. My other one clung to the side of the birdbath, and never really fit that well. Since this sits in the middle of the bath, it is perfect. I set it on a very slow drip. I will probably order another one very soon.

    Easy to Assemble and Sturdy
This dripper is a replacement for the one that was original with my bird bath. It was easy to assemble with no leaks on the first try! It looks great and the valve that controls the dripping works really well and appears to be alot sturdier then the one on the original which only lasted aboout a month. The birds love it as do I!

Loved adding this class act to my yard
This water dripper sure adds class to my generic white plastic bird bath. It was easy to set up and the 50' of tubing was a godsend, I didn't have to change the location of my birdbath. I love to see the goldfinches land on the curved top of the copper dripper and then hang upside down to 'drink' the drips! The only con is a purely aesthetic one, it would be nicer, in my humble opinion, if the tubing and fittings were of a clear nature rather than black; wouldn't be quite so noticeable.
