Wrong line on spool
I bought a packet of Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon 12LB line from a local dealer in South Africa a while ago. It is currently winter here and was respooling my reels when I started using the spool of line that I've placed in my fisking tackle line box. I noticed something was off but wrote it off to the Double-X Hi-Abrasion 14LB line I was taking off my reel. But when I spooled my reel, it didn't even fill half of it(Shimano Slade 4000FB). Now I knew something was seriously wrong. The line measure about 0.008" instead of 0.012" Now I don't just want to diss the product as I have moved over completely from Double-X and have had only good experiences up till now. Have you maybe had any other reports of the same happening to other people? Or am I the only guy that has been forced to only catch small fish this season?

    Excellent leader material
    On july 23rd of this year (2021) I went striper fishing on Lake Ouachita, here in Arkansas. I was trolling with a 2500 series Shimano spinning reel, spooled with 30 lb braid, and topped with 20' of Berkley Vanish. To cut to the chase, I hooked and landed a 40-45 lb (easy) Striper after a battle that went on for maybe 12 - 15 minutes. This fish made some incredibly long and fast runs, as will as being wrapped in the line for a while. After boating, taking pics, reviving and releasing the fish, I inspected the leader. Even though the fish had three large areas of damaged and bloody scales from being wrapped in the line, I could find no scuffed or frayed spots anywhere!!! I've been using Vanish! as a leader material since it came out, and AS LONG AS I tie good knots, carefully, and use reels with a butter smooth drag that's set correctly, it has never let me down. I've used all the other much higher priced Fluorocarbon leader products out there, and IMHO they are way overhyped and way overpriced!

    Very good quality fishing line what I like about it is that it doesn't twist especially for bait casters so almost tangle free.. the problem is that overtime you can see sign of wear on the line

    great stuff, fish can't see it
    I use this stuff for all my leader materials. I even stopped buying expensive fly line tippet and use the 2 & 4 lb instead. Works great and have caught tons of trout when others arent.

    Line you cannot beat
    I have been using this line since Berkley came out with it. The only problem with the line is you can only use the Palomar Knot with it. All other knots have a tend to break off all the time. I use this line on all my Reels, to include my Center Pins. It has enough stretch to take the impact of a large Steelhead jumping (water walking) and the low visibility to be able to catch Natives out of a small stream. Easily seen out of the water so you can make sure you are not getting any line drag. You can use a light line and still land those trophy fish. I use 4 pound and I am still landing these monsters in the pictures with no problem. Can't say enough good things about this fishing line.
