New trash can
Much cleaner looking and with the lid ups up to dispose of the trash leaves any drippage going into the plastic bag inside of the trash can. Looks much nicer than the old one.

Don't order.
I would give zero stars if I could. I ordered this trash can as a Christmas gift and it came WITH NO BOX. It literally came as if you bought it in the store. They stuck a shipping label on it and said good to go. It's scratched AND broken. I ordered it so I wouldn't have to go to the store but I'll be going back to the store to return it.

    Needs modification to fit 13 gal trash bags.
    It says it fits standard 13 gallon trash bags, but it lies. The can is about 2 inches too tall to fit the trash bags so when you try to compact the trash by pushing down on it, the bag pulls off the rim. I cobbled together a fix by hacking apart a cardboard box and fitting the pieces in the bottom of the can to raise it up and give the bag something to sit on. Now it works great, but I shouldn't have to modify it that much to make it work like it's supposed to. Other than that glaring flaw it's a good can; it has nice styling, the foot pedal is functional and sturdy, and it's large enough to hold a couple days worth of trash.

    Is it possible to love a trashcan?
    I never thought I could get excited about a trashcan, but this is the one! It's very sleek and modern looking and the feature that hides the actual trash bag is very clever. The lid opens gradually and doesn't slam open as many other trashcans do. No odors escape from the bin at all, which is a huge bonus. The foot pedal is easy to press and perfectly sized. I really can't say enough about this trashcan after suffering with a trashcan with an ill-fitting lid with odors escaping. A !!!

    Great garbage can
    This is a great garbage can at a great price. I'm considering buying a second one to use for recycling. Its very sturdy, and has a double lid. One opens when you press on the pedal, and it nests within the other one. The other one lifts manually and is how you install the bag (it secures and hides it), and this lid will also stay in the upright position if you want to keep the can open.

    Perfect size, quality and build for kitchen trash
    The Better Homes&gardens 11.9g Grey Plastic Step Can is the perfect solution for a garbage can in your kitchen or other places in the house that you want to keep your garbage out of sight and smell. The opening mechanism is very handy and heavy duty. It allows you to open the garbage can hands free and the closure does a great job of keeping the smells in. This trash can is made of heavy duty plastic and feels like it will be able to endure a lot of abuse. We recently took with us on a family vacation for use with in our travel trailer. The garbage can worked perfect for this purpose. It stood up to regular bumping into it in the small space of the camper, did a great job of keeping the trash smells in the can, and even got dumped over without spilling garbage. Garbage can bags or liners fit very nicely inside the garbage can and are held in place but the lid mechanism. The garbage can also looks very sleak and nice. Overall I would highly recommend the Better Homes&gardens 11.9g Grey Plastic Step Can to anyone looking for a great garbage can for their home.

    Super Nice Trash Can
    I love this trash can; it's even nicer than I thought it would be! It looks so pretty and stylish in my kitchen, and matches perfectly. I'm very happy with how solid and sturdy it is, and it doesn't move around on the tile like my old one did. It has a soft close lid so it doesn't slam shut, and since it closes slower it gives you an extra few seconds to throw the trash out if your hands are full. The garbage bags stay in place and don't come lose inside the can, and the shape of it makes the bags easy to change. The pedal is large too which is nice; it makes it easier to step on it. Very impressed with this, and would definitely recommend.

    Sleek look!
    I got the gray trash can. It looks very nice in my kitchen. I was worried that it might look cheap in person, but it's very sleek looking. It has a stainless steel rim at the top that makes it look more high-end, and it matches perfectly with the other appliances in my kitchen. I love the way the lid slowly closes itself when you remove your foot from the push pedal. This feature was unexpected, but wonderful because it means the lid never slams closed. However, when you put your foot on the pedal to open the trash can to throw something away, it opens fast. If you're like me and have it placed against the end of a cabinet or against the wall, this means it will slam into it every time it opens unless you use your hand to “catch” the lid. For that reason, I docked one star. But the design is beautiful and I love the way it functions, otherwise. So overall I do recommend it.
