    It is perfect for my needs and wants. It would have been easier to assemble with 2 people but, as a 74 year old woman, was able to assemble it by myself. (There are a couple of the longer screws that I couldn't get completely set as my cordless screwdriver wasn't up to the task. However, I was able to manually screw them mostly in.) It's sturdy and square and well balanced when leaned flat against the wall. I have not secured it to the wall as I may want to tweak it's placement and have no small children around. I was happy that it was on sale when I purchased and it finished off my bedroom that I was struggling to finalize.

    Very happy with look and functionality!
    I am very happy with this desk. We have a small house and really the best place for my desk was the family room. I wanted something that could double as room decor so my family room wouldn't also look like a messy office space. This is perfect. It was easy to put together- I did it myself and I am not good at assembling things! It creates a warm and cozy corner. When I'm not working I put the chair back in the kitchen and put my laptop away and it looks just like a decorative shelf. Love it.

    Chic desk for the living room, on a budget!
    Looks super chic on a budget. I'm using it as a desk with a heavy monitor, so to make sure it felt stable I anchored it to the wall and purchased grip pads for the feet. It did not feel stable as a desk (where I am typing, applying pressure) originally. Obstacles putting the desk together: - The screw holes were not routed deep enough, so I needed an electric tool. - Was difficult to keep the two pieces making up the vertical sides in place while building. Definitely need 2 people for this. Overall very happy with the style and price. My previous work-from-home desk was an eyesore in the living room; now this is both stylish and functional.

    Very sturdy desk. Beautiful neutral colors and bigger than I thought which is a plus. The directions were a bit of a pain but also self explanatory once you recognize the correct screws. Precision and lining up you planks correctly will determine if your screws fit so be precise and use some elbow grease! Overall a great buy for the price.

    beautiful and simple to put together!
    beautiful and very simple to put together! however I would recommend mounting to the wall with brackets to make it stable. we simply used the mounting brackets that were included for the optional bookshelf (sold separately) perfect for a small area! we bought this for our daughters laptop, her room is small and it worked out great!

    Manufacturer defects - screws don't go all the way
    I was so excited about it but was disappointed when I got it, style and looks is great (minus the weird streaks on the desktop), but it took us two hours to build and we weren't able to use the screws provided and had to improvise with smaller screws. That's because the manufacturer didn't drill holes deep enough for the screws for the desk panel to go all the way in. So, although it's now fully built, the desktop doesn't seem to be very sturdy - I'm hesitant to lean on the desktop since I'm afraid it will collapse or topple over. Also, we didn't want to return it, because it would be a hassle to drop it off... we will see how this goes, but definitely the manufacturer could do a better job.
