The material is 100% polyester with a gold metallic design. The pros of polyesters are it is durable and strong and that blocks light and drafts. I like that they are machine washable, no dry cleaning necessary.The backside (blackout lining) is sewn to the back of the curtain panel. The panel Hangs via the rod pocket or back tabs. Personally I am not to fond of the color it reminds me of Christmas and is a bit glamorous for me. I only have one panel, they are sold individually. Hum, but I suppose I could put it up like my other decorations for the holidays.

Nice Curtain Panel
I had the opportunity to review the Better Homes & Gardens Blackout Abstract Single Curtain Panel. The panel has a rich abstract texture. Currently, I do not have abstract curtains. In decorating, it will take great skills to blend with abstract curtains. It appears to be well made and is machine washable which is a big plus. The material is polyester and heavy. I am so excited about the blackout effect of this panel. It is a total blackout for me, and I love this feature. My color preference for a curtain lining is white. This lining appears to be gray.

    Blackout Curtains
    I really like this curtain panel. I have purchased blackout curtain panels in the past and they were far from what I would consider black out. They still let light in if there is much light at all. To me a black out curtain should actually black out the lights. So if it is middle of the day bright sun with the curtain closed the room is dark. That is what you get with these curtain panels. They actually do block out the light. This comes in handy if you work evenings or night shift. The curtains are pretty long. They actually drag the floor. I am going to put a rod higher above the window. I would def purchase this curtain again and will likely purchase more of these to replace the curtains I already have that do not block out outside light as I wanted it to. I also want to know that if I have lights on in the room at night and have the black out curtain closed you won't be able to see through the curtains. These curtains come in a variety of colors. The one I have is a light tan color with gold pattern design. This would match most and decor. I would definitely recommend

    Better Homes & Gardens Blackout Abstract Curtain
    Better Homes & Gardens Blackout Abstract Single Curtain Panel, 50 x 84, Gold I chose this light-blocking curtain because of its color matching with my living room's general decor. The material has a substantial feel and seems of good construction. The design does not call attention to itself which is a good attribute for curtains which need to tie together a room rather than stand out from every other element. Regarding the design description, ‘Abstract,' I would agree that the individual lighter shapes against the cream background do have an abstract feel to them and it is hard to discern where the design elements repeat as a pattern. The high light control rating is justified as it does a good job of blocking out daylight when fully drawn. It is heavy in that it does not flow in the fan breeze like my lighter curtains so I am happy to have these as an option for the winter months when the dark lasts longer and I'm more inclined to having privacy from outdoor view. Very glad to have these curtains!

    There ismore than good looks to the curtain panel
    I am so happy with this Homes & Gardens room darkening curtain panel. The beautiful cream and gold design panel measurements are 50x84, with a room-darkening liner. The liner is heavy enough that it probably helps keep cold air from steeping through the window during the cold months. What impressed me about the curtain panel is that it survived the heavy rain and wind of Hurricane Ida. The package was delivered the day before the storm, but I didn't receive a notice and wasn't expecting a delivery. To my surprise, the package was outside my door the day after the storm. Everything was soaking wet, the box and content inside. I immediately washed the curtain panel. Happy to report that everything turned out fine. The curtain colors didn't bleed, and there wasn't any shrinkage. It survived the harsh conditions and looks great.

    Beautifull and sunblock
    Last 1.5 year and a half I moved and rent a townhouse in miami and experienced A lack of insultation and sun direct light to the master bedroom, I tried a few brands and ended using tje black ones because the lighter color didnt helped so much. I hated to see the bed room so dark but i had no choice. What i like from this curtains is that they are made of 2 materials. [ see photos] so they help a lot with the sunlight They also are so pretty and elegant. See the patter has a gold touch If you are like me that need to block the sun but dont want lo live like if you are batman and want a lighter color, i recommend try this one. Also i love the fact that even they dont have tje holes to hang they actually have a hanger at the back to put the curtain stick.

    Great item to blackout ligth
    I am please with this item,it keeps out the extreme brightness of the day light ,it has good quality and it is good looking,one panel is perfect for a single window,very easy to put up and it hangs very nicely ,it can be use in any room in the house to control the amount of light that is coming in.

    Gaudy design and extremely heavy
    From the online photo I thought the color and design of this curtain would help create a nice vintage look for my bedroom. I was wrong. Once I received it and got a closer look, I realized the fabric design looks really outdated and tasteless. When I hung the panel, I was disappointed that from a distance it appears shabby. This curtain definitely does not give off a stylish, retro style as I had hoped. My biggest issue though is that the panel is uncommonly heavy, to the point that it's impractical. Keep in mind I only used a single panel. I have other blackout curtains in my home that have excellent light-blocking capabilities and provide good insulation, yet they weigh much LESS than this particular panel. Before hanging this panel, I installed hardware that was well equipped to hold a curtain of this weight and size including wall anchors that support up to 50 pounds. I used heavy duty curtain rods and brackets. The day after I hung the panel, I saw it laying on the floor. The weight of the fabric was so heavy that it stripped the anchors right out of my wall. Because of all these issues, I need to buy a different panel. Definitely do not recommend!

    Beautiful, practical
    This curtain panel (notice you only get one in the pack) is simply gorgeous, well constructed, superior, separate darkening panel of material that wont peel off when washed, won't melt in the dryer, unique hidden hanging loops for curtain rod, and metallic gold threading all the way though the decorative part of the panel. It has it all. I will be getting another panel for our bedroom/livingroom double wide door to block light from the tv to the bedroom and strong sun from the bedroom windows into the livingroom. The are just so perfect. The liner is very smooth heavy material, very light blocking. Not 100% light block, but superior to any other light blocking panels I have used up to now.

    Beautiful fabric - cream with gold cross hatching
    I love this fabric! It's cream with gold cross hatching. The overall look is a subtle classy gold, but it also an be used as a neutral. The fabric is heavy quality, but drapes nicely. This is also a "blockout" curtain that blocks out a good amount of light without looking visually like a heavy curtain.
