First Day Out Found Diamond Earrings!!!
I received this as a Christmas present, after much begging!!! We live in San Diego's suburb Pacific Beach and Christmas Day was 70 degrees. We went to the beach about noon and within 1/2 hour I had picked up over $5 in various change. Then about an hour in, I found a ziplock bag that had a ladies metal hair clip, a brush and low and behold, in the bottom of the bag a pair of diamond earrings. Wednesday, after Christmas, we were so curious, we took them to our local jeweler and found them to be a very nicely matched 1/2 carat pair of earrings. What a find! My wife has now officially made this my new 2nd job! The unit is great. The only thing I would recommend is buying headphones because of outside noise influence, it's difficult to hear sometimes. Otherwise.. this thing is GREAT!

TOO CONFUSING/WON'T WORK
this is so confusing...tons of multiple settings, volumes, etc...i cannot figutre it out...WAY too detailed and totally confusing!!.....i cannot use it...so disappointed.....i just wanted to find a metal object someone buried in our yard, but the beeper kept going non-stop....and, then it stopped beeping totally...it went just silent....????....the instructions are so overly-detailed, with too many options and settings...i need a simple tool.....not dozens of confusing ambiguous settings.....so now it is too late to return it...idlk what to do...i am out over $95 now...i need to return/exchange it somehow......helppppppp

    Nothing fancy, it works as intended.
    It worked as intended. It found my property metal rod in less than 1 minute. Of course you have to know where approximately the metal rod might be to begin with. Once it hovered the metal rod, it beeped. I had some doubts initially with the metal detection sound but after digging up for 1 inch of dirt, there it was. I found what I was looking for. Well worth the money.

    Lost chuck key found in minutes.
    I purchased this detector to find a drill chuck key that is not replaceable. Setup was easy. Setup testing and training following the instructions was easy and informative. Knowing approximately where the chuck key was lost in the lawn two years ago I found it in five minutes. I am hooked on future searches. Thank you for a great product.

    I'm not very impressed with it's performance but the 10 year old grandson is having fun with it. You get what you pay for I guess. I've only had it a couple of days. Hopefully as I learn more about it I will enjoy it more. Right now definitely not impressed.

    I am enjoying mine, especially now, couldn't wait to get outdoors after this long cold winter to do some treasure hunting. So far found an earring I had lost, a house-key, lots of nails and junk, but it really picks up, just waiting to find the gold. Having so much fun with it, well worth the money.

    Works great especially while using both pieces of equipment together. Detector gets you general location and pointer gets you exact if less than 2 inches below surface. Pointer also saves you from digging unnecessarily. Found Several nails on surface that we couldn't see. Make sure Pointer is turned off after use. Kids forgotand battery drained by next day.

    So far so good
    First some back story. A couple months ago while building our porch I was brushing some sawdust off my shirt, in the process my wedding ring flew off my finger, bounced off my saw, and flew away with me not realizing what had happened until a few seconds later. With nothing to go on but how I was standing and the motion I was making at the time, we spent about 30 min each crawling, dragging rakes and scuffing around in the general area with no luck. It's just a $30 tungsten carbide ring, but that's not the point. For the past couple months we would take occasional cursory walks through the yard in different sections with no luck, so I decided to buy this. After reading the instructions and getting a few laughs at them telling me how to search for buried items such as “loot from a bank robbery, or possibly just someone's life savings” I started with all the settings on the highest sensitivity with only the goal of finding my ring in mind and telling myself that it was going to be on the surface, so there would be no reason to dig, I can always do that after I find my ring. I started in the area where I was standing when it happened and worked my way across the yard, stopping and scratching the grass at every beep with no luck. In the meantime, I was able to trace the buried power line to my shed, and find part of a soda can under some leaves, then I hit a spot that made a fuzzy beeping sound. The fact that this sounded so different then all the other beeps made me give in and get my shovel while trying to restrain visions of a Jed Clampett type scenario playing out. I dug down about 4” into the red clay and found the bolt on the left in the picture. The fact I found this at least gave relief that the detector actually works. About 10 minutes later I got another fuzzy beep, dug down a few inches and found the metal rod. I have a theory that the rust seeps out into the surrounding soil and makes the detector think the object is bigger then it actually is. After a few more laps back and forth I got another fuzzy beep. This time it was over about a 12 inch square area. After finding the center using the X method from the instruction manual, I dug down a full shovel blade depth to find the knob, waved the detector over the hole and was still getting a fuzzy beep so I expanded the hole out another couple inches and found the bolt at around the same depth. Within an hour I found enough stuff that wouldn't bring a dime all together and still haven't found my ring, but have become familiar with the operation enough to say that it seems to be a pretty descent little gadget. When we get some warmer days I will take it to some places other then my back yard for some real treasure hunting, maybe I'll find some pocket change or jewelry, or maybe I'll find some more rusty bolts.

    Solid Basic Metal Detector and Accessory
    At this point have enjoyed a week of use of the Tracker IV around the farm. The unit and pin-pointer accessory have performed as expected. Primary use so far has been in the "all metal" mode which is most sensitive. Has been useful for locating buried irrigation piping clamps and property boundary driven pins installed decades ago. Also, it proved capable of finding legacy military projectiles, etc. on the property (buried at depths of ~2-5"). Suggest buyers of this model check out You-tube presentations on the capabilities and features. The "Travel Treasure" channel has a couple of no-hype instructional videos on the Tracker IV.

    A good detector
    First, the price was very good. And it is easy to use. First time out I set it to find all metals, and it found everything! Including a nice mans ring.
