Dav Pilkeys Captain ...
Dav Pilkey's "Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 2: The revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers" is a story about Captain Underpants fight against the Bionic Booger Boy and his bad guy friends the Robo-Boogers. They travel through time, encounter monsters, and many robots while trying avoid massive boogers. Although I didn't particularly care for "The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby" this book had the same kind of theme, but the book has more words and less pictures. Although the content is really, really silly, this book had more of a storyline to be followed. I can see how a child would enjoy this particular book. This book is funny and adventurous. Like "The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby' this book could be used in a classroom library as a book to increase AR reading points or pleasure reading.

    What can defeat space shuttle…
What can defeat space shuttle destroying robotic mucus? A silly dance from Captain Underpants? The power of all that is pre-shrunk and cottony soft? Or could it be a squishy of vitamin C? Never mind all that. The real questions are 1) how did George and Harold end up with a pet pterodactyl, 2) how to unscramble the brains of Melvin Sneedley and Mr. Krupp, 3) and worst of all, what happens when you use an overheated Purple Potty time machine two days in a row? According to noted fourth grade author George Beard, the answer to number 3) is “It all sounds like a setup for the sequel to a really lame children's book!”

The puns and smart wit of these books keep me as entertained as the super hero, silliness, and gross out factors keep my son begging for more!

    Continuing on from Par...
Continuing on from Part 1 this book brought the funny back for me. All the usual devices, which were getting just a tad repetitive, are here but with a funny little spin on them. There are several 'bad guys' this time around, though I'm still not crazy about the fellow student going maniacal but of course everything is sorted out in the end. Pilkey reaches out to the adults, who by this time are being forced (heehee) to read these books aloud, with some sideways jokes that adults will get on another level. I enjoyed "Commander Tomski"! Good fun all around and Pilkey seems to have started a trend now as this book ends with the set up for the next book. Not exactly a continuation like this two-parter, but we now know the doom the next book will begin with. Get ready for Pterodactyls and Purple Potty People!

    Book seven in the Capt...
Book seven in the Captain Underpants series. Harold and George thought that the Combine-O-Tron had put everything back to normal. Unfortunately, there was one minor glitch: Mr. Krupp's and Melvin's brains have been switched. Melvin schemes to keep all of Captain Underpants' powers for himself.
