Clorox Pool Salt - pure and simple!
Clorox Pool Salt is exactly what I needed for my 28,000 gallon salt water pool. It was pure and dissolved very easily. I can't say enough about the product or the price at Sam's Club...all great! In addition, I ordered 18 bags online and went to the pickup at the store. The merchandise was brought right out and loaded into my truck. Great purchase, great service...just wish the store would try harder to keep this product in stock...I need some more! :)

Beware - This product stains bottom of pool.
I am heartbroken and wished that I had read the reviews prior to putting this in my pool. Our pool has been the centerpiece of our backyard and we have always kept it meticulous, so we were shocked when we emptied one bag of this pool salt into our pool and brushed it as we usually do only to come out the next morning and find large stains on the bottom of our pool where the pool salt was poured in. We tried brushing away these stains but they do not come off. We have used other brands of pool salt over the years, and have never, ever, encountered this problem before. Apparently, upon reading product reviews, we see that this is a common problem with this pool salt. We are very disappointed, and very upset that our beautiful pool now has large stains that we can't get out after using this pool salt.

    Buyer beware!
    Turned our clear blue pool yellow green within minutes of adding and left brown stains on the bottom that wont come off! Wish we has thought to read reviews before buying. Apparently a known problem with this product. No idea how we are going to fix this mess.

    This salt will stain your liner!
    As other reviews have mentioned, if you dump this bag of salt directly into the pool, it will stain your liner. I purchased 6 bags of this salt and every bag was like a solid brick. Before adding to the deep end of the pool, I used a hammer to hit the side of the bag to help break things up a bit. The smaller pieces dissolved quickly enough but there were some larger chunks that remained around the bottom edge. The next day I noticed "rust spots" in the liner exactly where those chunks of salt were. My liner is over ten years old so I know every mark in it and these were new. I'm so glad this happened before we replaced our liner! I was a little skeptical of the other people reporting the same issue, but sadly its true. I've never had this problem with Morton pool salt and will always use that from now on. As a work-around, for the remaining bag that I had left, I broke up the bag into large chunks and then dissolved a few chunks at a time into a 5 gal bucket and added the salty water from the bucket directly into the skimmer basket. Do yourself a favor and use Morton pool salt and you'll never have to worry about staining your liner.

    DO NOT BUY!
    Absolutely horrible. An hour after I added the salt it turned the water greenish brown. Now I have to purchase a chemical to remove the metal residue in my entire pool. I didn't read the reviews before I purchased, but I truly wish I had. I had always used Morton's without any trouble. Don't risk it!

    Great price!
    Use this salt every year, works great! As far as pool salt goes, we have used a few brands, and honestly, this one is a great value for the price. We've used it every year for the last several and have no plans on switching up- works well with our intex salt system, and the handy clorox testing system you use with your phone just makes life so much simpler.

    Turned my pool yellow/green
    Buyer beware, I will be buying Morton's from here on out. The salt was fine and dissolves well , but when I put 8 bags in my pool it turned yellow/green. Read TFP and came up with the solution to put poly fill from an old pillow on the skimmers and use my Polaris pump run through another pillow to get the (likely) iron out. Within a few hours of pumping water through the polyfill, a brownish red ‘stain' accumulated on all pillow stuffing filters (see pic). Within 10-20 hours of running the pump, the pool was clear again.

    Well worth the money
    Great pool salt. No need to pay twice the price for pool salt unless you have money to burn. I've been using it for over a year. No, it doesn't stain the bottom of a pool if you're smart enough to toss it in, move it around with a pool brush and run you pool filter pump. Dissolves quickly and does exactly what it's suppose to.
