bye-bye liquid softener!
After just one use, I am already sold. The box is nice and sturdy. Easy to store. Top comes off easy as well and there is no guess as it comes with it's own scooper. The little softeners look like tiny little ice. I love that you can get in scented and unscented. A big plus having unscented for those with sensitive skin AND noses. It tells you how to use step by step on the package with text and pictures. My clothes were so soft after just the first use! I love how it's not just softening your things. It is protecting over time! Such a great new product. Can't wait til they make bigger size options to stock up.

Not what I expected
Unfortunately, this is a product that I was disappointed in. It says unscented but once you open the container, it smells like glue to me, although your clothes aren't left smelling like glue but I figured I'd point that out. My wife and I love Downy and is the only laundry product that we've used for years but this particular product was a let down. You use these beads in your washer before you add your clothes along with your detergent. We've always used a fabric softener and feel like we wouldn't benefit from a product like this. This Downy Defy is supposed to make your clothes softer and extend the life of them and prevent them from getting faded, out of shape, etc. over time but really didn't notice a difference in our laundry. This isn't a product that I could recommend or even purchase because I think it's a waste of money in my opinion.

    These are great because
    These are great because you can soften your clothing while also keeping them in like new condition. It's super convenient because you don't have to pull apart sheets or mess with a liquid, they go just like scent beads. I have been using the unscented gentle ones for the baby clothing but I'm looking into the scents for my stuff. Love these!

    Softens
    I wasn't too sure about this at first because it looks like the little plastic beads in beanbag chairs. It definitely seems to work though. It's hard to tell with regular mixed loads, but I did a work uniform load and it felt softer after washing with this. I think it would be best to use on new fabrics to maintain softness and color, but it did help with well-worn fabrics.

    Excited this seems to work!
    I was hopeful this product would help keep my clothing from pilling and/or fading. The packaging says you will notice a difference in the first use. I was extremely skeptical. But, the first lead I used Defy with actually seemed to come out softer and the clothing seems smoother. The packaging also says the more you use it, the better your clothes will be. I just want my new clothes to look new longer.

    Great add on
    This is something new that I like for an add on to washing my clothes. Like that it's unsented, as I can use my normal laundry detergent an sprinkles. They have their own scent, so it won't clash with the Downey Defy. My clothes fill so soft. As far as helping with not fading, time will tell.

    Makes my clothes so soft
    These little beads are a godsend. Not only do they make my clothes feel soft and comfy, but they also protect my clothes from washer wear and tear. Although these particular beads are unscented, that doesn't stop the powerful safeguard they have on your clothes. I'm loving these.

    I received my downy defy beads and honestly I'm a bit disappointed in the smell, it's odd, even tho its supposed to be unscented! I did notice my clothes wher softer but as for the color saver.. Only time will tell if that works. Other than the smell there OK.

    Works Great
    Downy Defy does what it says. My clothes came out soft and looked great. It was very easy to use. I just scooped it out and put it in my washer. I got the unscented and it does not have a scent which is great. Over all very happy with this product. I've been wanting something to prolong the color and life of my clothes and this does the job

    Smell is off putting
    I can't really say if these work or not. I'd assume they would after many washed. The smell is very off putting. To be unscented they have a scent that makes you gag a bit. When I open them I want the downy smell but these are just awful. They don't leave any residue so they dissolve completely and rinse right. It's just hard to get passed the scent or smell. I'd say smell since there isn't a scent.
