Great chess set
We wanted something durable that our 7 year old could use but we still wanted it to look nice. The wooden pieces are a very nice touch and the fact that you can secure them under the board and close it up makes this set perfect. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a chess set.

I read a bunch of reviews and thought this was going to be a pretty solid set, turned out to be ugly and cheaply made. The sticker they put on top is this really ugly yellow color, the pieces are surprisingly nice though.

    Don't buy this cheap chess set!
    This set looks and is cheaply made with warped balsa wood, fuzzy printed top, and will break within a few uses. The board is 11.5" semi square and wobbly when open. The top is 1/8" balsa wood that will break soon or warp instantly if in a humid area. The cheap hinges and clasp are barely attached and not straight. The chess pieces are ok. This was purchased as a gift and I would be embarrassed to give it to anyone.
