Well made Printer !
This is a review for the Epson Expression Home XP-4205 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. This printer was simple to set up and the setup with m y phone was convenient. Usually you have to connect to a computer via a cable before you can set up wireless, but with the app on your phone, this is no longer needed ! The app is comprehensive with plenty of information on usage, ink levels, Network status and Hardware status. This nice to have in the palm of the hand So far I have printed 34 pages with 16 being black and 18 being color. You can see my ink levels in the attached photograph. It is hard to say the longevity of the ink cartridges provided with the beta units. I do not know if they were the normal cartridges or were filled with a smaller amount of ink for just beta testing. So far I have found the printer a little noisy when printing but not so bad that it makes me want to remove it. Overall, I'm happy with what HP has presented.

Great price, set up was easy, prints nice... until the ink cartidges run out, and the initial cartridges run out pretty fast. I bought the set of ink cartridges for about $50, same as I paid for the printer on sale. Turns out the new "xl" cartridges don't last all that long either. I'm so disappointed, and I bought this printer on Jan. 19, 2023. The return window closed yesterday, Feb. 18, 2023. I'm so bummed! So I went and bought an Epson Ecotank... so far I like it. And I bought the extended warranty just in case. Sorry, Epson, but to go to such great lengths to make a printer that absolutely cannot take refillable cartridges is just ridiculous. Can't even make it chipless. Unreal.

    Damaged Box
    I ordered 2 printers sent to 2 different addresses. The first printer received at 1 address was in great condition, wireless set up was easy and manageable. The second printer received came to my personal address, banged up. Upon opening the shipping box, I immediately see damage to the Epson Home printer box and there is no extra filler inside shipping box to prevent damage. I'm hesitant to setting up printer in case there is further damage to the actual printer on the inside but I do have projects that i need printed. So this is really inconvenient.

    Stock up on ink and tech help
    Convenient size, fast printing but the ink goes SO fast. Also I now have an issue because the printer is printing blank pages. I bought it in Dec. 2022 now I have to fight between Epson and Square Trade to have it replaced. Epson sent me tech instructions and closed my claim while Square Trade won't honor the protection because it is less than a year from purchase. Basically I am stuck with a Printer that wont print and I have had to replace the FULL ink twice due to running cleaning/printing/diagnostics. I have no idea why the ink is used for some of this but whatever and neither warranty protection is willing to help.

    Horrible go in store
    Received today not in original box. I'm fed ex box lose I'm sure tossed everywhere with no manual just everything thrown in with bubble wrap. Terrible service do not waste your time. Of course if I take back to store it's always a hassle because it's a third party seller. Great job. If I could've left no stars I would've.

    ZERO STARS! GARBAGE PRINTER! DO NOT BUY! I updated and now won't recoginze my ink carts. I downgraded and it still won't recoginze.

    printer's ink runs out too quick ... and it won't let you print if one of the cartridges are low. it gives no options to just print black or color. causing whole printer to fail during printing

    Walmart sent me a dirty, used printer with empty ink cartridges. The printer was scratched and dusty.

    POOR QUALITY
    TERRIBLE! Called to troubleshoot printing. Spent close to an hour doing this. Took mulitple head cleanings. Finally printed decently. Went a week without using. Again had trouble printing. Took several times cleaning head. Was able to print off approx. 30 pages before black ink ran out. Had to wait for new ink. Loaded it, as directed. This time only 1/2 of the letters were showing. Red is actually pink. Waited to next day. It now tells me remotely that the black ink is out, but on the machine it shows that it is full. It also shows that the colored inks are out, but the were only used for the test print. Today, print is blurry. This machine was delivered on Jan 10, 2023. It is now Feb. 9, 2023 and the site on walmart is saying that this machine does not qualify for a return any more! So be it! The box is gone anyway! Less than a month. $75.90 plus $33.36 for ink! What a waste, What a waste!!

    look somewhere else.
    If I can give zero stars I would. We were looking for a new printer since our old printer all the sudden died on us. We saw this printer and we thought it was a good price but I could never print more than 10 pages in black and white without having to buy a new black ink cartridge. I purchased and installed a new black ink cartridge but the print quality was horrible so I put the printer into cleaning mode to try and fix my problem. During the process the printer printed a couple test/alignment sheets which used up all of the colored ink! And it was just a few colored lines on a sheet. Now I was out of colored ink with a new black cartridge. The printer said I can print black and white while the colored cartridges were empty but I couldn't get anything to print in black and white, I would just get a message from the printer that the ink cartridges are low or empty. I only owned it for a month and returned this printer because the poor performance.
