    Good for the back yard
    My expectations were low but so far very happy with the net. My teenage son and his friends use it often and no problems. Easy to assemble. Stays up fine. Would be perfect if the net was a little bigger and could tighten the bottom of it.

    Backyard Fun
    We love playing backyard games as a family, and one of our favorites is volleyball, with badminton being a close second. We've gone through quite a few cheap and flimsy sets that barely last the summer, so this set is a step up for us. We received the Professional set, which is the top tier for this product line. We had no trouble setting it up and have been enjoying it throughout the summer. The poles are sturdy, the net is a good quality, and the volleyball is fine. We have our own badminton racquets and birdies and sometimes use those with this net instead. Unlike our past (cheaper) sets, the poles are still good and the net isn't sagging. Overall, this is a really fun addition to our backyard. It is well made and seems like it will last us for quite some time.

    “Professional” kit is the way to go
    It seems a lot of the complaints about quality are for the starter kit. The professional kit has been wonderful. The poles are robust and the ball is an authentic regulation ball. My sister in law plays in a volleyball league and she gave this a go and got the stamp of approval. Very compact and portable set for fun on the go.

    Fun for everyone!!!
    I love a good game of volleyball. There's something about skillfully smacking a ball around that helps me focus and let of some steam. It's even better when that game is played with friends and family. That's why this set is so great. It's so much fun to head outside for a great time in the grass. The set includes everything you'll need for a good game. All you need is a few minutes to set things up (with an extra pair of hands), an open area, and a group of people who are ready to have a blast. The setup is sturdy and durable.

    Fun for the entire family
    Installation was complicated. It is a 3 person job. The instructions could have been better. But, after an hour, i finally got this net set up. When I was setting it up I was extremely doubtful as to whether it would hold in place. But, surprisingly, it did. The entire family complained that the net was too high. It was perfect for my 6'4 brother in law but the rest of us were trying to work with the net. The net is pretty low quality so, I do not think this is going to last that long. I like that it has its own carrying case. It was fun for the entire family until the ball ended in the roof of the house. Game over!

    Fun to pay volley ball again!
    This Franklin Sports Family Volleyball Set is a great thing to have for family get-togethers, picnics and what have you. Everything needed is included as described: " (1) volleyball pole set and net, (1) volleyball and pump and (6) ground stakes and ropes." Easy to put up and take down for the next event. A fun thing to have and to play!

    A ton of fun, but not something that is going to be used over and over again
    Here is how I look at it. For around $50 I get my family outside playing and competing for a couple of hours while we cook out and enjoy ourselves. That is far cheaper than going to the movies or out to eat. So, my critique of this set must be tempered. When I was a kid, we had super sturdy sets that you could use every other year for 20 years. They were not easy to put together, but they didn't fall apart. I don't have confidence that this is one of those sets. It goes up easily and withstood the onslaught of our brood, but I got the feeling that it was one good collision away from oblivion. But I don't think you can really measure how much fun it was playing out in the yard with the family. The ball is soft enough that it doesn't kill the wrists of those who aren't real familiar with playing the game. The ball was probably the most quality component of the set. The bag it comes in is not much more than the re-useable bags you get at the supermarket. It is that cheaply made. But at the end of the day, this is about having fun with the family doing something active. Mission accomplished. I think it is a low quality set, but it serves its purpose and most will get several uses out of it before it gives up the ghost. If you are looking for an idea for quality family time without springing for a trip to Orlando, this is a great option.
