Fantastic GE AC/Heater Unit
I could not be more satisfied with the GE- APXD10JAWB. The AC/ Heater unit is absolutely amazing. The unit was easy to install and works like a charm. Our shop area was cooled in no time. In Texas, we have high temperatures in the Summer and low temperatures in the Winter. This unit allows us to have access to work comfortably in our shop year round. It is a slick- looking, well -built unit. The unit is on castors which makes it easy to move around. I truly cannot say enough good things about the GE- APXD10JAWB.

Catastrophic failure in 6 weeks
Before this weekend I was fairly happy with this unit. I've owned a good number of portables in my day and this one by far as the highest volume of cooling I've ever owned. Up to about 105F outside it keeps it around 20F cooler inside. If you live where it gets to like 115-120F outside then maybe you'll need two. It lasted long enough to get me through this disgusting heat wave but it's blown itself apart due to manufacturing shenanigans. The bottom blower fan module blew apart inside causing a catastrophic failure. Looking inside i can see that from the factory this blower fan was previously repaired , the evidence being rubbery glue in an attempt to repair a crack. The glue failed and the fan blew apart inside. GE usually makes quality stuff so I imagine this is related to parts shortages and trying to get as my units out as possible. So I don't know if I should return this for a refund and buy one next year of hopefully better quality. Or exchange it in hopes of getting a unit that hasn't had repair work done on it before shoving it out the door. Also if you wanted the dual hose setup, good luck, the RAP02 hose kit has not been available the whole time I've had my a/c unit. They state manufacturing problems as the cause. SO don't count on a dual hose setup for summer 2021 anyway,. I'm not mad GE... I'm just disappointed.

    Arrived Damaged
    The unit came fast with 2 day shipping. Unfortunately, when the unit arrived it didn't work. I believe the unit was laid on its side during transport. When I unpacked the unit the bottom and up the sides had a greasy film on it. I'm returning to the store for a refund.

    Arrived internally broken
    The item was delivered broken. The shipping box was in good shape. When I took the unit out, the shell of the unit was intact and looked fine. When I turned it on, it ran for a few minutes and got cool. The heat fan turned on and started making sounds and eventually got stuck and the unit turned off. The white fan housing was broken on the inside. We asked for Walmart to send the next unit right away so that we wouldn't have to be in extreme heat. They said, when the broken unit arrives in the warehouse, they will ship the new unit. That's long turn around time when it's 100 degrees in your home and you have kids/animals.

    This heat and A/C dual unit is a must have if you have a man cave or a she shed. It keeps the rooms perfect whether it is cool outside, or hot! It comes with everything you need to hook it up and ventilate it out the window!

    I am so impressed with my GE SMART 10,500 btu portable air conditioner/heater/dehumidifier! It even comes with a remote control and batteries. This unit is extremely easy to set up. In under 30 minutes, I set it up on my own with no issues. Everything is included and nicely packed in the box. There's an exhaust hose, exhaust nozzle, window brackets and window panels. All the screws for the window panels and brackets are also included. This unit sits on four rolling casters for easy portability. Some units also have SmartHQ capabilities. WiFi set up is explained in the instruction manual. Now for all the features. The control panel display clearly shows buttons for POWER, MODE, FAN, TIMER/TEMPERATURE, TIMER (WiFi), SLEEP and AUTO SWING. The MODE button is for cool, heat and dry (dehumidifier). The FAN can be adjusted from low to high. The TIMER/TEMPERATURE control is for temperature or time delays. The TIMER button is to program from 1 hour to 24 hours for the unit to turn on or off. Also to turn on and off the WiFi feature. The remote control has buttons that relate to the unit and is very simple to operate. I love that I can easily dismantle the window panels and move my unit to another area. Unlike a window unit this unit can be rolled into any room in my home as well as to our shed. I can now work inside our shed when it's Summer and feel comfortably cool. By far the BEST appliance in my home!

    Modern looking ac but missing coating on trim.
    I was looking for a sleek modern ac unit to help offset the use of my HVAC and this fits the bill! It fits in the kitchen and is pretty minimal on the sound. The biggest bummer was when I pulled off the packaging the silver trim coating pulled off all over the unit. It looks a little used now before even using it. Install was easy and didn't take much time. Overall this will be a great benefit in our kitchen in the hot Texas summers.

    Works Great!!
    I've had my GE Portable Room Air Conditioner for almost 3 weeks and it works great! It only took me around five minutes to get it set up and just a couple minutes more to set up the app. I love how convenient this air conditioner is. It's portable, so I can move it from room to room and easily put it away, when it's not in use. The app is really convenient too! I can control the power and temperature from my phone and I can turn it on while I'm away from home, to cool my house down. It also comes with it's own remote. This air conditioner is very powerful! Once I turn it on, i can immediately feel a difference in room temperature. In less than five minutes, it cools down my entire livingroom. It's not quiet by any means, but being quiet isn't its purpose. There are four different modes, cool, fan, dry and heat. I've tested out each mode and they all function properly, but with the temperature being in the 90's, I'm going to be enjoying the cool air mode.

    This GE portable AC unit is an excellent item that delivers cool air in a large or small space. We are having AC issues and this unit is able to cool a large open area consisting of a living room and dining room with 10 foot ceilings plus a kitchen. Moving the unit to a bedroom at night, the room cooled 10 degrees in minutes. Set up was very easy, the hose and window insert plus some additional foam is included. The timer function is a nice feature. Very happy with this product and highly recommend!
