gettin the game to work
if gears of war crashes every time you play to stop this go to my computer. after that go to microsoft games then click on gears of war. once you do that go to bionaries or binaries click on this then go to startup. Right click than run it as administrator and that will make the game work fine.

WASTE!
I own a ps3 gears of war didnt come out for the ps3 so i thought i would get it for a brand new desktop! After i downloaded gears of war. And started playing it i couldent belive i just payed 50$ for a cartoonish vidio game. The controls are terrible and so are the graphics. But you can use and xbox 360 controller to play on your pc. I havent did that yet though. The good thing about this game is the chainsaw bayonet. Ihavent played since i bought it (2 weeks ago)

    This Product is bad
I am a huge fan of Gears of War I have it for my Xbox 360 and i wanted to try it for the PC but it took like 2 1/2 hours to install and when it finally did install it would cut me off of it. My personal opinion would to buy an xbox 360 and gears of war for that. it is to much trouble to play it on the PC

    Crashing Time
owned this game on the Xbox 360 ans loved it. Purchased it for the PC and are still yet able to play it. The game crashes constantly after 60 seconds. I have downloaded all patches and updates still to no avail. Microsofts recommendation was to "Turn off" my virus guard in order to play it...No thanks! Gamer recommendation - Stay clear till all the bugs are fixed.

    Excellent game
Sure it had some trouble with Games for Windows Live when it first launched, but MS quickly issued a patch, and now Gears is one of the best games ever! I am hats.

    Very disappointing game
I have played many Microsoft games over the last 6 or 7 years like the MechWarrior series, Combat Flight Simulator series, and the Halo series. These have been great games that are a blast to play. But I am VERY disappionted in Gears of War. I expected the game to be at least as good and hopefully better than the other Microsoft games I've played. No such luck. This game is rated as 17+ but looks like some kind of comic book kiddy game. The movement is sometimes unpreditable and uncontrolable. The aiming of weapons is offset which you have get used to. OK, but why change a good thing. The blood splatter looks like some kind of soupy sillypuddy goop. I could go on and on. But after paying $50 for what I thought was going to be another great Microsoft game I am VERY DISAPPIONTED!!!

    NON VISTA Compatible
Could not get this game to work on VISTA 32. I had to dual boot XP and Vista just to play the game. It works ok on XP but does not support the Direct X 10. No support for the Vista install. A little dissapointing when the selling point is DX10 graphics and it does not work. Its a fun game but a little twitchy with keyboard/mouse combo, highly recommend an Xbox wireless controller.

    Money Money Money
Gears of War is great game.the graphics are awesome. The third person shooter is excellent for this game. The entire gameplay is awesome. The only thing that doesnt make the cut is that multiplayer is through Microsoft live. They want you to have to pay to play online.NOT COOL!! not only did you just spend $50 on this game but they want more from you.there needs to be a way around this.Single Player rocks.so this game is well worth it just for that.so go out a buy it.

    Horrible Microsoft errors
It would help if I could even play the game. After the install which went smoothly, I tried to open my account on Microsoft live which is required to play the game. Thats where the the trouble started. While entering the cd key the game crashed. Then after a moment I started the game again and it gave me a no-cd error saying that I did not have the right disc inserted. I could not get it to read the disc. I uninstalled then reinstalled which takes forever since the install was around 15 gigs. Started it up again and didnt even make it to the login for microsoft. So in other words the game was a nightmare of glitches and after reseaching it online I found that no support is offered as of yet to pc customers. Its a good game for Xbox but was hurried through production for its pc version.
