Good Quality Bulbs
It took me some time to switch from halogen bulbs to LED bulbs. I'm not sure why, but price was usually the biggest deciding factor. When I saw that LED bulbs were available from Great Value I was excited. I like the Great Value brand and have always been happy with their products. I don't like to overpay for anything and I was happy to try out these 40 watt bulbs to see if they would create a less vibrant brightness than the 60 and 70 watt. I opened the package to give the Great Value LED 40 watt bulbs a try. The box is made strong and comes with four bulbs that slide out of one end of the box on a cardboard tray. The bulbs themselves are made well and don't feel overly fragile. I do believe from how they feel that they are generally shatter resistance as indicated on the box. Which is so nice when you have small curious children who want to hold one before you put it into the lamp. The package says one bulb will last approximately 9-22 years vs the 1-2 years for halogen bulbs. This means I don't have to shop for new bulbs for the lamp for like 10 years! That's exciting for me since I would much rather spend my money on something else. Plus, they use the least amount of energy when compared to halogen and CFL bulbs. To try the brightness, I put the bulb in a small lamp in the living room that needs more of a gentle warm brightness for late night or reading a book on the couch. The 40 watt was just right! Overall, these are my go-to bulbs for all the lights in my house, including our outdoor, covered porch lights.

My only complaint is with the mfg. - didn't think of motion sensors nor dusk to dawn sensors. The LED bulbs burn out in just a couple of days. Pretty expensive to use!! Also - with the mfg. again - you can't see clearly with a 60 watt - have to go to next one - - whereas old bulbs a person could see fine with a 60 watt. You asked!!

    Plant lights
    I have a lot of plants and needed light bulbs that had at least 1500 lumens. honestly I wanted the cheapest set up possible. with the lamp plus the light bulbs ran me about $40 totals. a lot cheaper than actual plant lights and getting them installed in my case or above the plants. I leave on 16 hrs of the day and never had a problem with them getting too hot. i'm writing this review 5 months since i bought them. no issues. would buy again.

    Bright, crisp lighting!
    These light bulbs really brighten a room! Crisp bright lighting that seem brighter than your regular 60W equivalent. Does make it feel like real daylight. These will be good for winter when everything is dark and gloomy.

    Good for everyday lighting situations.
    These LED bulbs are not made of glass, and this is stated on the package. During shipping, the box was crushed, and one bulb had a large dent, but being plastic, it did not break. I hesitantly put it in a lamp, dent and all, and it's still glowing bright after a couple of weeks. Time will tell what kind of lighting time these bulbs give, as they do seem a little cheaply made, so my fingers are crossed! They provide a bright white type of light, seemingly brighter than a regular 60 watt bulb. For the price they appear to be a good buy, so I recommend purchasing. I don't think they would withstand outdoor use.

    Good for a short time
    Great bulbs if you enjoy changing light bulbs and within a couple of months buying more. You will start to get a random flicker from time to time then nothing at all. Have had several since previous homeowner had them all over the house. Bought a couple of packs thinking maybe he got some bad ones and the house was built in 2014 that maybe they have been in here since new. From my experience since they have likely been changed about a dozen times or so since they built the house. Will not be buying more. Have had good luck with GE so far. They need to change 9 year claim to 9 hours…..Literally

    If in doubt, get the 60 watt for your bedroom.
    These lightbulbs seem to work fine. Since they are like daylight and they were for a bedroom, I almost got the 40 watt. I'm glad I didn't! The 60 watt were perfect ambient light for my bedroom. I can't say anything about how long they last, since I just got them. I hope they really last for the time they say they will. I think it was 7 years.

    Affordable and just what I wanted.
    I bought two packs of these. We just moved, and when we got there to clean, we switched out all the light bulbs. These are best for in multi light fixutres, such as ceiling lights and over the bathroom sink. I strongly dislike WARM WHITE which cover everything in this sick yellow light. THESE are very bright, and provide a beautiful clean white light.

    Nice Sunny Lamps
    Love the effect of daylight in my lamps and strangely so do my plants, not saying these are grow lights by any means but just that my plants for some odd reason seem to be doing better than with normal lights, weird but true anyway they're great to read by and do other things, very nice.

    Not worth the price - lasts less than one year
    These bulbs do not last more than one year which isn't even close to the 9 years that it says on the package. The fine print on the back has a one year guarantee that walmart doesn't honor. I bought three packages of these and the first one went out after a few months and then one each month after that. It's been ten months now and I found another one out today. I wrote the date on each bulb when I bought them because I had purchased them before and thought I replaced them a bit to fast. You can see my faded out writing in the picture.
