    Does not melt
    Does not melt well. I tried 20% power in the microwave, and it (solid butter) exploded everywhere after about 30 seconds. Then I tried using a double boiler, and it took almost 30 minutes to melt 2 tbsp of butter. Something isn't right..

    Tastes like black pepper.
    Tastes like black pepper. I have used this butter for awhile. it is okay to use for vegetables and savory recipes but the distinct black pepper taste doesn't work for pastries and baked items.

    I recently bought a pound. the expiration date was in 2019. When I melted it and tasted it, it was sour like buttermilk. I suspect it was spoiled. I took the remainder back to Walmart for a refund and bought another brand.

    i don't usually write reviews. But, I usually buy this butter or the Hiland brand. Just threw 1 1/2 lbs out. They tasted like they were made out of soured cream or plastic. Didn't notice it with baked products, but when you put it over potatoes, YUCK. They were new packages and the expiration date is 4/17. So they are not old packages. Will buy Hiland from now on, as I do their heavy cream, because I am picky with my cream also.
