Reminded me of stale beer.
I give 1 star only because it arrived on time. There's no expiration date on the bottle but the one I got must be old, old inventory. It smells rancid and left a nasty odor on my clothes. (put it on wool dryer balls.) Didn't smell like any lavender I'd smelled before.

    Not the lavender I was expecting but very nice.
    Doesn't necessarily smell like the lavender most people are used to but it still smells very pleasant. When I opened the bottle I was immediately disappointed because this had an overall unfamiliar scent with a hint of lavender but I put it in my diffuser anyway only to be surprised at how nice it smells. It has a very soft lavender scent along with something else that I can't quite place. It's very calming.

    Highly recommend this oil
    I read all the reviews before purchasing. I have a very sensitive and strong sense of smell. I am very picky when it comes to oils and perfumed products. I decided to try this despite the negative reviews warning comsumers to not buy due to a "rancid or stale" smell. I mean, worse that can happen is me having to return it and buy a different brand, right? So I purchased it. I will vouch for the great quality and scent being true, 100% lavender with no staleness, sour or rancid smell. I will continue to purchase this. A drop or 2 goes a long way so no need to use a lot whether you use it in a diffuser or to make lavender scented products. Since I did read someone's review stating it cannot be real lavender due to the low price.... It has to be cheap and poor quality, right? Wrong! If you are comparing the price of GuruNanda to that of DoTerra or other brands that rely on signing sales consultants up, yes the price is very low. Why? Because they don't have markup after markup to pay out percentages of profit to consultants/dealers who sign up to market and sell the product. Therefore, I do recommend the GuruNanda Lavender Oil because in my opinion it is a great quality 100% lavender, it does it's job in my diffuser, it smells wondeful and it's at a great price point! Try it. If you don't like it, simply take it back.

    Smells Rancid and Sour
    Not the lavender I'm used to, and I've grown many lavender plants in my day. It smells rancid with a sour undertone. Very unpleasant -- I had to throw it away.

    I knew the bottle was broken when I took it out of the bag. I heard the jingle of broken glass. The box was dry, only a faint scent of lavender. So it was on the shelf broken? I need a refund.
