Just Like Big Ones!
I absolutely love the John Deere Battery OP Gator 6v kids Gator. It looks so much like the real big ones. The MP3 hook up player has a great speaker. My kid can boogie around while she drives and loves it. The gauges look real thanks to stickers. Just one side opens up for easy in and out. My kid is an extra big toddler and she fits great! I was so impressed with how easy it maneuvers and she learned to drive quickly. Goes back and forth with button that goes when you press pedal. Charging is so easy. The cords are small not bulky and charge last couple days. Ann she drives it daily. The favor toy of the summer in this house. I love how it reminds this mom of driving John Deere on the farm as a kid. So glad to be making memories with my kids. The color is nostalgic. An yea she uses those bazooka water guns all the time and thinks it's a blast to squirt her older sister! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Oh Deere, this is some real fun!
I had the opportunity to assemble and utilize the the John Deere Battery Operated 6V Gator ride-on with my 3-year-old daughter. This Gator is a true-to-life replica of the classic green and yellow John Deere utility vehicle and features two removable water bazookas! From start to finish, this product took me about 45-minutes to assemble. I love that, with the exception of a screwdriver for a single screw for roll cage security, absolutely no tools are required for this build! The John Deere Battery Operated Gator is well-built, overall, as the plastic chasis, wheel components and frame feel durable. This ride-on requires a 24-hour charge prior to use, and although attaching the cable for a charge is quite simple, the placement of the battery pack and electrical components is a bit inconvenient. Located under the yellow Gator seat, the battery is accessible only by unlocking and lifting the seat. The seat back is fixed with two latch clips, and so, removing the entire seat (which would grant much easier access) isn't quite viable. Despite this, we had a fully operational Gator in 24 hours, horn and all! I love that this ride-on comes with an auxiliary cable to allow your child to listen to his/her favorite tunes while riding. Performance-wise, at 6V, the John Deere Battery Operated Gator met my simple expectations--slow moving, and about 45-minutes worth of power after a consistent run. My 3-year-old daughter was easily able to reach and manipulate the gas pedal, forward/reverse switch, steering wheel and horn. After just a few moments of practice, she was able to maneuver the Gator easily in our large yard. Because this vehicle is one-wheel drive with little power, the Gator lagged and would get stuck, fairly often, over longer patches of grass. A simple push or use of the reverse button resolved this issue, but became a bit cumbersome. If you are looking for a smooth, rolling ride, I think this ride-on would likely perform best on flat ground, such as pavement or concrete. Although this vehicle is suited and sized for ages 3+, my petite almost 4-year-old daughter pretty much maxes out this vehicle, leg room wise (height isn't much an issue because of the open top). I wish this toy was built a bit larger, as it seems as though it would be more ideal for a 2-3 year old. Another consideration--this vehicle has no safety belt or harness (if that is something important to you). Despite some drawbacks from a parent perspective, my 3-year-old daughter had an absolute blast on the John Deere Battery Operated Gator. She absolutely loved hauling her favorite stuffed animals and toys in the rear compartment and spent countless hours refilling and utilizing the two water bazookas! Overall, I think this ride-on is what you might expect from a smaller, 6V ride-on toy. Although the quality and appearance are there and all components work as promised, the power, performance and sizing of the Gator could use some refinement. Despite some shortcomings, I think this ride-on will provide almost any young child with hours of fun, especially on the pavement. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Small but sassy
A bit smaller than I anticipated . My two and half year old grandson has to squeeze and duck under the bars to get in . He has only used it a couple times and seems to know how to operate it already , but he has been riding in similar toy vehicles with his 4 year old cousin since he was 1 and half years old . The size may actually turn out alright since it may fit into my Subaru for car trips .

    Great for summer fun
This ride-on is a hit with my toddler! I love the pride my son takes in driving his own vehicle and the sense of autonomy it provides. The functions are simple and manageable; my 3 year old is able to manage unassisted. That noted, the gator is not without bells and whistles. My son loves cruising down the street while jamming to his tunes courtesy of the mp3 input. Likewise, he loves the features that make the gator more car-like including the functional lights and horn. The brilliance of the storage in back is also not lost on him as he can take all of his toys out for joy rides. Lastly, the two detachable water bazookas are the icing on the cake, providing endless fun when we take a break from driving. While I recommend this product, I think there are areas where there is room for improvement. For example, the assembly manual could use some work. As the instructions are condensed into a single image, I think users would benefit from a larger picture or text to accompany the visual. While I found the assembly easy and straightforward for the most part, I admittedly had to consult a how-to video when in came to the snap-pins as I was unfamiliar with their use. In terms of the gator itself, my son has difficulty lifting the frame for easy access in and out of the vehicle. That said, the problem is easily remedied by ducking in/out. As for the drive, my two complaints are that the turn radius is minimal and that gator jolts when pressure is applied to the pedal. Thankfully, it's smooth sailing thereafter. All in all, this a great ride-on that's captured my son's heart and has filled many summer days with fun. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Easy to ride
John Deere gator is easy to ride in a battery operated toy car. My three year old can ride it easily on grass as well as pavers. The quality is good and sturdy. It's easy to assemble all instructions are clear. It's a one seater. It comes with two detachable Water Bazookas. It also comes with a 3.5 mm input jack for music. It has a 6v battery to charge with 110v. Overall its a good toy car but I found it a little noisy and stuck on grass frequently. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Never Ending Fun!
This is by far my three year olds favorite toy. He rides and rides around in the yard. He loves to use the squirt guns included with the Gator to spray his dog and siblings. The Gator goes just the right speed for him. I love how "real" it looks. Just like a life size Gator. The motor is quiet so early morning rides are no problem. It took my 3 year old no more than a few minutes to learn how to control it and he has been loving it ever since. He tells everyone he meets about his Gator. Highly recommended!
