Beautiful
I really enjoyed building this, it is my first architecture piece and while I enjoyed the time I spent on it I was very disappointed with the size of the Statue of Liberty It was so small it was kind of ridiculous looking and totally throws off the rest of the structure this should definitely be something that should be fixed in my humble lego loving opinion

Pretty Frustrating
We bought this for our ten year old son who has most of the items in the architecture series. He easily has done the much larger sets and many other Lego sets with thousands of pieces. This one was the first time he just lost interest and became to frustrated to finish himself. The problems are with the Empire State Building portion. The pieces fall apart easily as you assemble it and then the base part of the building does not connect with the tower portion. We rebuilt the bottom portion and the tower portion three times with three different people and same result every time. We had to use an extra piece from our own Legos to make the tower set on the base and even then it won't set centered. The other beef is that they really should have given a little more thought to the Statue of Liberty piece and at least given her a torch or something that makes her look like the actual statue other than just being green. We have done Venice, Berlin, Chicago, and all the different towers and this is the first time the set was a bit of a let down. Looks good from a distance now on his shelves but definitely not as great as the rest of the series quality wise.

    Fun Kit
My 10 year old loved the set. It's fun to build and looks great when complete. It's not a very big set though. He finished it in an hour or two.

Happiness for my 13 year old
Got this for my 13 year old great grandchild because of her age. She is too old for some things and too young for others. Started last year with London and she loved it. So I added New York for this birthday. Each year, until I pass, I will get her one of the architecture Legos. Since they make her happy and gives her something to do I will continue until I pass. This is a hard age to buy something for a child. But, Legos has it all.!!!

    First Ever Full Lego Set
When I was a child, the only Lego sets I collected in the early to mid 90s were earned through a promotion with Kellogg's cereal where you mail the form with several UPC codes, if I remember. It was four sets of 30+ pieces and were of a race car, glider, boat and helicopter. Fast forward to now, I win this set at a company raffle and was hooked after that. I took 4 hours of uninterrupted building. Mentally, I did get a little frustrated during the built. After each completed task, I felt I'm never going to finish, even with this 598 piece set. I wanted to be easy and finish fast. I didn't enjoy at first as I hoped I would. So I forced myself to break it down brick by brick and start over. I needed to take time building and enjoy it. I need to work on my patience as well. Mind you, this review is not a dig towards Lego, this was personal things I needed to work on. In order to test my patience for the rebuild, I purchased a lighting kit for this set to make it mow challenging. The rebuild took over the course of 5 days each, one to two hours each day. And voila! I found the enjoyment of building my first Lego set a second time. Bravo to Lego and it's Architecture series. I'm an engineer by trade and really come to appreciate the little details of each brick, component, and building of this set, and many sets that followed. The spare bricks and little statue were a plus. Looking forward to building other Lego sets!

    The NYC Skyline Rocks!
Bought this for my son who is 30 years old for the holidays 2022! He had asked for a LEGO set and loves NYC. Is challenging enough for a college professor but fun!

    *insert tacky NYC caption here*
This is one of the best LEGO Architecture sets you can find out there. It's not too expensive, and although it's pretty simple to build it looks great next to some other NYC stuff, whether it be canvas prints or the Empire State Building set from 2019. Either way this model features some of the most iconic skyscrapers in the country, possibly the world. The Statue of Liberty works well in the scale of the set, and doesn't draw attention from the main buildings which is nice. The Empire State Building is roughly the same size as the standalone set from the beginning of the Architecture line, yet has the same look to it as the larger set from 2019. The Chrysler Building is another one that's hard to capture the look of given its scale, but LEGO did their best and it fits in well with the model. Taking a break from the Supertall skyscrapers from Midtown, the Flatiron Building does a good job representing the real thing (which I've never seen without scaffolding covering it) given its scale. Finally, my personal favorite building in the model and the city, One World Trade Center is another where the scale LEGO built this in makes it so difficult to accurately represent, and I applaud LEGO for their efforts. I rated this as a 1 out of 5 in terms of play value because it's literally not for play.

    This an exciting puzzle.
My 8 year old grandson was so excited to put this together that he got up at 4 a.m. to get started by himself. By the time I got up at 7 he had 2 1/2 buildings complete. Some of the pictures in the instructions are not clear though.
