Pet Pals-Very fun!!
This game is a very interactive game that grows with the child you can add more than one dog to your house for more fun! Teaches responsibility and teaches the child emotions and manners. It teaches about money as well by plying games you get doggie dollars to buy items in the shop super neat game!!

Freeze
This is a fun game and my son enjoys playing it, but it tends to freeze and I have to remove the batteries in order for his Leap Pad 2 to work again. I downloaded this game, didn't buy a cartridge, and I have done updates on the Leap Pad and the games. Other than the freezing it's a wonderful game.

    Yep...it freezes...
    Great game! My wife has a Nintendo DS and my daughter always loved playing nintendogs. When she received her leapfrog and got this game for it, she thought she was pretty tough stuff! She showed everyone her dogs and showed off thier tricks. The game does freeze though. We thought it was just hers, maybe even the leapfrog itself. After reading other's reviews, we were half glad and half upset. Glad to hear we arent the only ones with this problem, upset that leapfrog has not issued a patch or update for the game to fix the problem.

    Frustrating
    My kids LOVE this game so much, they love to take care of the dogs on their game (and actually helped them to want to feed our animals at home too). However, I am not sure if anyone else came acrossed this problem or just me? Everytime they are playing the game (and only this game does it) it freezes up. We have to shut off the system and turn it back on, then they continue trying to play it because they love the game, but of course it ends up freezing all over again, it gets really frustrating. Other than it freezing up we LOVE the game!

    Patch works great!
    Like other people here have experienced, the game froze within about 10 minutes after gameplay. However, I just connected the LeapPad2 to my computer, it synced for a few seconds, and the issue was completely resolved. The game is great fun! I would recommend spending a few minutes explaining to your very young players about the virtual money/purchasing feature within the game. My daughter accidentally "bought" two pairs of sunglasses for her pup when she had merely intended to try them on him. She was a little sad that she didn't have enough money for other accessories due to her mistake. When you are in a store and you click on a product, a box pops up asking if you wish to purchase it, with a red "x" and a green checkmark as options. If your child is too young to read, they may not understand that they're making a permanent choice. Spending a few minutes in the beginning helping them to navigate around the virtual world of Puppy Town will really go a long way toward enhancing the rest of their experience, as it's pretty intuitive after they get their bearings. Overall, a very fun game!

    My Son Loves This!
    My son who is 4 loves this, he has a blast playing and taking care of the puppies. Though not as educational as some of the other games, it has helped teach him about taking care of (feeding, bathing ect) of an animal and made him more interested in taking care of our real animals. Great Game!

    I bought this game for my daughter. She loves animals and was getting bored with just pet pad that comes with the leappad. I can't keep her off this game, or me either sometimes. We both have already had hours of fun. Great buy!

    Great for buys and girls
    My 4.5 yr old twins love this game. My son was hesitant at first to use his leapster explorer, but this game brought him out of his shell. He knows all of the different clothing options, puppies' names and tricks. Even having collected almost everything available, he still plays this game every day. My kids enjoy exploring the different areas (bark park, pooch co. Dog show, pup boutique) and it also teaches some math. It also teaches them some jokes that are age appropriate and funnier than the ones they come up with themselves.

    His favorite game so far
    My kid (4 years old) loves this game! It has a ton of different things for him to do to his puppy: feed, water, groom, walk, pet, dress up, etc; and every one of these events requires your child to count, spell or follow a set of directions in order to complete. For example, to feed your dog, your child must count out a specific amount of "pieces of food" by tapping the dog food bag that many times. To score well in the dress show, you must put on a specific amount and clothes and usually there are one or more other requirements (like your child must include a piece of yellow clothing or your puppy must be wearing a hat, etc). The coins with which your child buys food, shampoo, and snacks at the store are also easy to come by and you do not need to use LeapFrog Connect to download any of this (like you do with the pet game that comes with the Explorer). My kid has been playing this game for a few days now, has gone through multiple battery recharges and we have yet to find a con with this game! I recommend.
