Research it before purchasing.
Great beginner tablet for toddlers. Read about it before you buy it. Requires 4 AA batteries. They are not rechargeable, it does not plug in. You have to purchase the videos and games and books. You have to use a decent internet connection to download these. If you actually know what you are purchasing beforehand this is a great tablet. Our two year old loves it.

Dont buy unless you want to spend more money.
I am very disappointed in this device. The package is very deceiving. The package states that there are 10 apps included and make it appear that some are games and reading material. However, when the device was opened, the apps included a clock, calendar, and calculator. What does a child (age 3-5 who would be using this device) need with those kinds of apps. There were no apps included that the package led you to believe were included. Then I attempted to download the connection app but the file was too large for a cell phone. The only other computer that we have is a chromebook. The package was not clear of the requirements and for the amount of money that the device cost, it should be more clear on what is included and the requirements. This was a waste of money and very disappointing for my 3 year old, who was very excited to see his first "ipad".

the LeapPadjr was a gift for my 3 1/2. yr old . He showed an interest in games on our phones so we thought it may aid in learning. I was a bit disappointed knowing had to purchase apps and download through a computer. At 5.00 to 10.00 and up! Theres some content pre load few demo games and demo videos, a pet profile with pet 3 pet games, change your pet. its color.. and name..the pets room, may select decor ..also there is a calculator. camera.with rear n front facing cams..editing tools..also has a voice recorder, memo pad, auto for music with scouts juke about 5pre load songs. Has a few background options and child profile selector. comes with an attached stylus. Only had this 3 days he likes to push buttons but it lacks the same interest as games on my phone. I basically want him to get use to a tablet before upgrading to some thing not as expensive for apps.

    Takes 4 AA batteries!!
Was getting this because it was the cheapest. Didn’t know it needed batteries until we got home. The batteries weren’t lasting not even am hour. Ended up exhanging it for a better tablet that is rechargable

Bought this for my kids ages 3 and 5. They both love it! I got kinda worried I made a mistake because of it not being rechargeable but we bought rechargeable batteries and have never had a problem. They are on it for an hour and still have plenty of battery left. I love this better than just a regular tablet because of the no internet access (aka you-tube). Great educational tablet!

I had bought this gor my daughter it is advertised as having $75 dollars or preloaded content which i couldnt find any where on it. You cant connect to wifi to download the games you have to hook it up to a computer which i dont have. (We have tablets and cell phones for internet use) plus it uses batterys so its not rechargable. I just couldnt find it useful for our family and ended up bringing it back.

    dont waste your time
dont waste your time or money. doesnt hold a charge and all the games you supposibly get for free are just demos and your lucky if they even will download. wasted 5 hours trying to make this thing work. plus after spending 80 dollars on this thing you then have to purchase more games that cost anywhere from 10 to 25 dollars for one game because the games that come with it are just demos! what a waste of money

    UGH! Forgot to read reviews!
Got this for Christmas for granddaughter. Smart mom who took hers back before her child could start to like it. Not rechargeable is a BIG DEAL. Didn't read the reviews before buying which is not like me. Unfortunate! Plus, I couldn't get the supposed $75.00 of pre-loaded content to work. Returning!

    Leap Pad Jr
Don't waste your money! It's not rechargeable. It uses 4 AA batteries which not included. For $79 it's not worth it. Get the leap pad ultimate instead it's only $88. Will return this to store.

    Not Rechargeable
The leappad jr itself is pretty cool. The issue is that it is not rechargeable- and you will not find that information anywhere. I've been replacing the 4 AA batteries every 20 minutes. You're better off spending an extra $10 to get the Leappad ultimate.
