Put in a light-trafficked area
It is rectangular and accommodates a tall kitchen trash bag for maximum utility. The sensor opens the lid whenever someone walks by. Being in a townhome with little room in the kitchen and dining, I don't have options for keeping it out of our pathways. Other than that, I am very happy with it. (I sometimes drape a kitchen towel over the sensor eye.)

Dented in Shipment
Item arrived from FedX in unsatisfactory condition. Back of trash container all banged in and almost impossible to remove bottom corrugated protective (LOL) eggshell. I did try to straighten the metal canister but it still looks terrible. Starting return ASAP. Hopefully next unit will arrive undamaged. Walmart/Mainstays? need to mark "FRAGILE" on box and/or use a better protection method for shipments. Also wondering if Walmart/Mainstays/FedX willing to offer cash settlement so I won't have to return this item?

    Decent trash can, arrived damaged.
    this seems like a nice garbage can, looks nice and functions well. however it was delivered with a big dent in the side. will be reaching out to customer service about it.

    Best pail ever!
    Easiest pail I ever had in my kitchen. The motion activated lid opens for hands full of whatever, for me its food prep disgards. it will remain open while standing over it if you have more than a single toss. I bought the white stainless and looks great in my kitchen

    Pros makes cleaning and cooking easier and safe perfect size. Cons We will not open motor isn't working right even with fresh batteries it does not have any water damage I need a replacement lid. Please

    My Toddler Thinks It's a Toy
    This makes throwing away trash so much fun that my toddler has taken to throwing anything he can think of in the trash can. Pens, shopping bags, food he's still eating, just to name a few. The lid even has a button to turn the sensor feature on and off, but this doesn't stop him. So, is the trash can child proof? No, but it doesn't claim to be. Is it my favorite trash can to date? Yes, and it probably will be for a while.

    bought 2 of these cans was hoping to use 1 for trash and 1 for recycling, but when the 2nd one arrived, it was a little too wide for the under counter space next to tbe other one, since it didn't look as neat, I decided to take it back

    I Love It
    We had a Hefty trash can with the foot pedal that broke for over a year. I got tired of having to pick up the lid, place it on the floor throw away my items, put the lid back on and then having to wash my hands because of the lid. I was thinking of getting a new stainless steel trash can with a foot pedal of better quality then I found this in the store. We finally bought it and at a good price. It's only been a week but we love it. just wave your hand, throw away your items and keep it moving. I also like the function that you can leave the lid up while your cooking and tossing items, etc. Remember to buy you some D batteries sold separately.

    Love it !!! Worth it ! I hate touching trashcans.
    No dents , Worked fine , and actually look a bit better in person ! I do wish the lid was a bit bigger but besides that , it will be perfect for my dorm room !

    Best trash can to have!
    I normally don't write reviews, but when I was deciding which trash can to get the reviews helped me a great deal. Walmart has the best price compared to competitors wanting up to more than double for the same item. I have had it for 2 weeks and LOVE IT. You learn how close to wave and it has worked well for me and I'm in the kitchen cooking a lot. It's been one of the best additions in the kitchen. I can finally throw stuff in the trash when hands are covered with anything while cooking and don't have to worry about dirtying the outside of the trash can while trying to open it.

    the trash can works great so far! walmart delivery is why its only 4 stars. it came to my door with tears in the box and crushed. the trashcan was dented. not a BIG deal, but when you buy something new, you expect it to look new.

    Even nicer than expected
    Nice glossy black on the bottom and the lid is matte black. Internal ring to firmly hold the trash bag in place and keep it from being seen on the outside. Sensor works great with 2 D batteries which are not included.
