I definitely made the right purchase here...
This Martin fly combo is perfect to get started with. Everything you need, except hungry fish. My grandkids will have lots of fun, once the ice leaves our favorite lakes. It's ready to go right out of the box!

Absolute toy, its just for a beginner, spend the few extra bucks for a quality reel with a drag a real drag! The flies look good but last 1 fish, 1 small fish

    well I have not been able to go out and even practice cats because it's been so windy the only complaint that I have about it so far though is it's only 8 ft not 9

    Perfect Fly Combo
    I bought this for my son who is an avid fly fisherman. He says it is a nice package with extras. He says it had already things done for you that you didn't have to take time to set up. Worked with ease. Enjoyed the extras included.

    Martin fly rod combo.
    Being fairly new to fly fishing, I was looking for a light rod & reel combo not very expensive, but with a metal reel. I spotted this deal on the computer, and read all the reviews. I like the feel , and look, but haven't fished with it yet. Early March now so it won't be long. I want to purchase a kayak also, and use this in the kayak also, since its so light. So far I like very much. Will write again in the spring. Thanks Walmart

    Very light weight!
    Love it. Light as a feather. I just have to learn how to use it. I did alright for being the first time useing a fly rod in about 40 yrs. Just don't make the same mistake I did. I put the three sections together and started to cast and the top two section came off together and ended up in the creek so I wet them and put them together before trying again. I fished for a good two hrs after that with no problems. I didn't catch anything but I can't blame the rod because there was an experienced fly fisherman right next to me who struck out too. I'd refer this rod. It's light and well constructed and a descent price.

    Good starter kit
    This is a good flyfishing starter kit. It is actually ready to fish out of the box and the instruction book is very helpful. This will not break the bank to learn how to fly fish.
