Fun for any Pokémon fan
Mega Construx Pokemon Buildable Ponyta 70-Piece Set is fun and has easy to follow directions to put together. My daughter love Pokémon and was super excited when we got her the ponyta buildable. It is her favorite character and we will be buying more of the kits to build! My daughter is almost 8 year old and didn't need much help building. It was entertaining for her to build. The hardest part was not losing the 70 piece. We kept them in Tupperware containers that were easy to see the pieces and get to. We now have a cute complete Ponyta on desplaiy in her room. Poor Quality, Can Tell Early Product Line
Missing parts, and the transparent plastic is only partially cast... you can see chunks of hard plastic color in the parts that did not melt and combine with the rest of the plastic. There are also bubbles in the clear plastic pieces. The ponyta itself is also very stiff compared to later products... the Galarian ponyta has two bendable front legs, for instance. The front legs on this ponyta are stiff and straight. Super disappointed.

    Different but fragile
I received this toy to review and my daughter was very excited. She's not very much into Pokemon and has no other pokemon toys, but this is a horse so she loved getting it. She was very eager to open it and build it right away. But much like other similar products, I ended up doing most of the work. The instructions were a bit hard to follow at times - the pictures included didn't always make sense with the step we had to do. But she enjoyed seeing Ponita begin to form. It was a bit difficult to keep the toy together. The head kept falling apart over and over again. The flames popped out of their spots. She had fun switching around some of the flames and the hair so the toy would look different. Once it was complete, she introduced it to other ponies she has and they became "friends". We weren't sure what the spinning part was supposed to do. She maybe played with it and other toys for about 20 minutes before switching to something else. She played for it a few other times for just a few minutes. I guess it didn't really hold her interest. But now she treats it more like a special thing to sit on the table (I don't think she wants it to break again). Overall, it would have been hard for her to put together by herself and follow the directions. It did not stay together well enough. I would recommend it to kids who like Pokemon and building sets but would not buy for my daughter [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Keeps them busy!
I received this product the other day and my niece was so excited to see Pokemon. We opened up the package and there were 3 small bags filled with all the pieces. My niece being 10 yrs old, I decided to give her some assistance in putting the toy together. There are a lot of small that I would recommend you do the assembly on the table away from small children and pets. She had so much fun putting it together. I gave her some help with the easy to read directions and we were successful in putting it together! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great for building focus and following directions.
My son has always loved legos but let's face fit all too often us parents are left with a half started lego kit we need to finish. This ponyta was simple enough that he was able to build it start to finish without losing focus and begging for help. He enjoyed it so much he is adding more pokemon mega construx sets to his Christmas list! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Fun to build
My son really enjoyed the challenge of building this pony. The pieces are small, so it took him some time to get it put together. He was proud that he could do it and liked how well it looked all put together. Great project for kids. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Is just ok
My daughter had no problems building this toy. However, when she went to play with it, a lot of the pieces kept falling off. We pushed them together again, but the pieces won't stay attached. She has lost all interest in playing with this toy because of this issue. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Easy and fun.
My nine year old daughter and seven year old son love Pokémon. They worked together and were able to complete Ponyta in 20 minutes with only one disagreement. All of ponyta's limbs move and are poseable. The fire spin was a cute touch. They enjoyed it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Love pokemon
My kids love pokemone toys. All kinds. This set was not extremely hard to put together. My daughter had it all done in maybe 15-20 minutes. The longer parts of the legs and the flame parts do not really want to stay on. So for this to be a toy that is played with I would probably glue those pieces onto the rest of the set. If this is just a display peice then I think it would be fine. My daughter loves the set. She wants to play with it with her other like pokemon toys but gets a little aggravated a few pieces continue to fall off, like when she moves the legs to a new postion. This did come with a few spare parts. That is great Incase one of the pieces gets lost. It isnt a huge toy but holds interest for a good while and my kids love pokemon. My daughter wants more in the series of these to add to her collection now. Perfect Christmas or birthday gifts! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Spectacular!
The instructions are NOT great but that's not necessarily a bad thing. There's a certain name brand that takes every bit of the guesswork of building things away. This Mega Construx Ponyta build made my daughter think, mess up and try again. Which I think is character building she did not give up and with her hard work she has something to show off. Which in the end she has physical proof that she can do anything she puts her mind to with a little hard work and I for one think that is absolutely spectacular!
