I read a review on the best oil filters and Mobil 1 came out on top. In the review the reviewer cut open various filters before and after use to see how they held up. I used to use the low priced filters until I saw the results of this test.

    No gasket on new Mobil1 filter.
    During the process of changing my oil and filter, purchased online and delivered from Walmart, I realized that the new Mobil1 M1-103A filter did not have the required rubber gasket, nor was it in the box. These gaskets are crimped in place at the factory and are required to seal the oil filter to the housing. With the vehicle temporarily disabled, I had no choice but to use the gasket from the old filter that I had removed from the car. My guess is either the gasket on the new filter was removed by a devious customer while on the Walmart shelf, or it was missing in error from the factory. Either way, it was bad and could quickly destroy an automobile engine!

    Mobile1 and Walmart Plus - A winning combo
    Mobile1 is an excellent filter product. At this point of time in the world, just happy that Walmart carried it, but delivered it the very next day. Kudos to Walmart Plus!

    This filter make my engine oil dark
    This is my first time using this Mobil1 filter because reviews were perfect. I used Castrol 0-20w for Corolla 17. I have been using OEM filter from dealer. The oil was clear when I checked the dip with OEM oil filter. This Mobil1 filter made the engine oil a bit dark when I checked the dip. It doesn't sound right. I bought 2 from walmart. I used one so far. The engine sometimes looks struggle with this filter. But again the reviews were perfect. So I changed the Engine oil again at 4000 miles even though the synthetic oil change was due at 10K miles. If you don't believe me, just try this filter with castrol engine oil. The engine oil will get darker. OEM filter doesn't add color on your engine oil.
