Modern sleep plush 12 inch hybrid cool gel memory
On Monday 9/1, I received the Modern Sleep Plush 12-inch Hybrid Cool Gel Memory Foam and Innerspring mattress in Queen. This mattress features memory foam on top of inner-springs. I had my son help me set up the mattress on top of my IKEA bed frame. My son did the heavy lifting. I really liked the way this package was shipped out in a compressed package. It was easy to maneuver around the stair way and post which usually presents the most difficult problem with any other non-compressed mattress. So, I'm very appreciative of compressed packaging. I followed the instructions contained in the package on how to open the mattress. Once, my son lifted the mattress on to the bed frame, we proceeded to unwrap the plastic wrap and the mattress decompressed and laid itself out onto my bed frame once the wrap was removed and it was exposed to air. It was quite easy and my first experience seeing this new technology!! So far I have slept one night on the mattress and look forward to more nights of cool, comfortable & restful sleep. I feel that the bed has risen in the last 35 hours and will continue to rise a little more because I can see it when I take the sheets off. I feel that I have slept more soundly and with more comfort. It really supports my upper and lower back as well as my spinal column down thru my legs. My description of support would be between medium and plush, not to firm and not to soft. Additionally, the pattern of the mattress is very attractive and has a modern pattern. I have a mattress cover to protect the mattress which I will continue to keep on there. Overall, I feel that this Modern sleep plush 12 inch hybrid cool gel memory foam and innerspring mattress is a great addition to any bedroom!

    Not The Mattress I Purchased!!!!
    Bed arrived quickly. We unwrapped it. It expanded and I was surprised to see the mattress surface looked nothing at all like the Walmart ad. Same fabric but totally different mattress surface which resembled a washboard with large 3/4 inch holes. I can place my whole hand in the holes! I waited 3 days for mattress to finish expanding and then tried it out The firmness was good but the weird surface was painful on lower back and worse on my legs. Like laying on a lumpym hilly sand beach. I could not feel cool gel surface either. I have requested a return and refund which now I find out that Walmart does not do. So they send request to seller. Also, mattress was made in India which was not indicated in Ad. Won't purchase anything this way again. Photos show the mattress I ordered and the mattress I recieved.

    Nice bed for my 5 yr old
    Nice bed for my 5 year old , package was alittle dinged up but the mattress isn't. Has the wierd new smell but it'll go away. Just opened It. Very heavy box.

    Feels like sleeping on a cloud.
    When given the opportunity to review Modern Sleep Plush 12" Hybrid Cool Gel Memory Foam and Innerspring Mattress I was very excited. I have been looking for a new mattress for my daughter who has been suffering with back pain for over a year so I wanted to get her opinion on this mattress. She slept on it for 4 days and said it was the best mattress she ever slept on. The mattress combines the support of wrapped steel coil inner-springs with the conforming response of gel memory foam. The mattress is very thick, soft, and unlike other memory foam tops you don't get hot when sleeping on it because of the 0.5-inch top layer of gel-infused memory foam. It disperses body heat and creates a cooler sleeping surface. It also has a second, third, fourth and fifth layer of comfort foam between the eight-inch layers of individually wrapped coils, which are encased in separate pockets so they can contour precisely to your body. It's covered with a beautifully dark gray colored detail quilted pillow-top knit cover. It has a corded edge and knit sides, and very sturdy handles; two on each side. I rate this mattress a five star and do recommend it to others looking to sleep in comfort.

    This mattress is absolutely fantastic!
    The Modern Sleep Plush 12-Inch Hybrid Cool Gel Memory Foam and Innerspring Mattress shipped to me, very well packaged and was rolled up tightly in a long rectangular box. I'd imagined it would have been shipped and unrolled being an innerspring, hybrid mattress, but not so, it was very tightly compressed and rolled up. I also initially thought that maybe it'd be like a can of biscuits when I opened up the box. It was nothing like it. It had a very tightly rolled compressed mattress in a vacuum sealed bag and then wrapped tightly around with a thick sheet of plastic. The mattress is extremely heavy. (For me it was anyway). It weighs 93 lbs. I had a very difficult time dragging it back to my bedroom from where it was dropped off at the garage. I couldn't find anyone to help me set this up so I did it on my own with a little trouble, but I got it done eventually. The hardest part for me doing it alone was bringing it inside and dragging it to my room. I did not have access to a hand truck to assist me at the time. Unboxing it was a bit of a challenge. I cut the box open with a good pair of scissors and rolled it to the bed and then stood it up on one side and leaned it onto the bed and then dropped it on top of the foundation. I then rolled it and flipped it to where the quilted top would be facing up. That didn't matter as the plastic had to be unrolled off the rolled mattress encased within a vacuum sealed bag. Once that was done, I was able to unroll it slightly but found I had to flip it over again and do it over to keep the quilted top facing up. It wasn't too terribly difficult to do on my own. Then I decompressed the bag as per the directions by cutting the edge carefully down the sides and it decompressed very quickly. In fact it was nearly at full height before I'd managed to finished cutting one side and at the foot of the mattress. I was able to slide the plastic off (including underneath the mattress) without having to lift it off the foundation or wrestle too much with it. Overall setup was very easy except the lifting part. The mattress did have some odor to it as it said it might have. It was not too terribly strong. I usually cannot go anywhere near things that are strong smelling such as cleaning agents and air freshener products and most scented cosmetic and hygiene products without inducing a severe migraine and sometimes to the point of passing out within seconds to a couple minutes of exposure and ending up in the hospital. It did not cause me a headache or to pass out and the odor dissipated within a couple hours. It smelled kind of like an adhesive product or polish of some kind. The mattress decompressed quickly and was at its full height within about 10 hours time. I was able to get to sleep on it within 12 hour of setting it up and I must say that I am exceedingly impressed with how comfortable it is. I tested the gel infused layer claiming the heat dispersion by putting on a single fitted, cotton sheet and laying down in the nude and covering up with body heat trapping blanket. It dispersed the heat very well and I had no hot spots and I hardly had to move at all. The mattress, upon initial inspection, seemed to be very well constructed and gave me the impression that it was indeed quite durable and was aesthetically pleasing. The mattress was firm but not too hard and it gave easily with adjusting positions. It did not have much resistance and it felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. I made sure to try sleeping in as many different positions as I physically could in as many parts and sections of the mattress as I could. There wasn't a single spot that felt uncomfortable. The mattress has decent shock absorption as well and didn't make any noise when any kind of vertical or lateral motion was inflicted and intensified while on the mattress. My overall opinion of this mattress: It's heavy, but very much worth the effort put in for setup and the financial burden. I would gladly play the asking price and if I could, I would buy seven more of them for all of my friends and other family members! I absolutely love this mattress and it is divine when it comes to dealing with my hot flashes, and broken floating rib, achy bones and back. I'm pretty heavy and it didn't seem to make any difference where or how my 220 lbs flopped around on it. I have a prominent 'caboose' and it was very accommodating to me. Buy it and love it!

    better than I could have hoped for
    I have been suffering with a bad back since 2002, when I slipped, fell, and ruptured 6 discs in my back, from my neck to my tailbone. Since then I have developed Degenerative Disc Disease, so when I say my back hurts, it hurts! I have used virtually every mattress out there, and none have really done much for me. So, being offered this as a Spark Reviewer was a fabulous opportunity for me to try yet another mattress to alleviate some of my pain. It was shipped compressed into a box about 5 feet high and 12 by 12 inches wide. A queen sized mattress in this little box? My son came over to move it for me - it is heavy. We put it on the box spring, still wrapped and compressed - see the picture - and opened the several layers of heavy plastic. With the last layer, the mattress started expanding while we opened it! Within 10 minutes it looked like it was finished, even though the insert says it may take up to 48 hours to completely expand, it had expanded to 12 inches, including the pillow top. Over the next day, it did expand more - to a full 12 inches of the mattress plus the memory foam pillow top. (see the picture) Nice. I've been sleeping on it for a week and a half now, and it is wonderful. When you lie down on it, you sink down softly and comfortably, and then the inner springs support you. I have not slept this good in years. To sleep for 4 or 5 hours uninterrupted by pain is practically a miracle for me. I woke up this morning lying on my back - and comfortable! I haven't slept on my back or my stomach for years. I can't recommend this enough - if I can get restful, renewing sleep with all my problems, imagine what it will do for you!

    Great Mattress. I am in love with the Modern Sleep Plush 12-Inch Hybrid Cool Gel Memory Foam and Innerspring Mattress. My wife and I previously bought a Sealy Mattress that cost 900 dollars at a Macys Store. What a waste of money! After 4 years it had dents all over, so we went to look for something cheaper but better. We were surprised with this mattress. I was so happy it was so easy to open and assemble. In seconds the mattress was ready to be used, although it took like a day and half to be in perfect form. I love the fact that it has both memory foam and innersprings. It really is the best of both technologies. We were also surprised with the fact that it eliminates motion transfer. I move all night and my wife can't feel it one bit. I also love that it has a pocket coil base which gives it great orthopedic support. This specifically is crucial for me since I recently got back surgery. The only thing we really disliked was the smell after we opened it. We had to use it the first night and the smell was unbearable for my wife. We tried spreading baking soad and leaving it for an hour and then vacuuming it, but this didn't work at all. After a couple of days the smell did go away. I would recommend waiting a few days before you use it, especially if you have asthma or issues like that. Other than that I would totally recommend it!

    Plush, Cool and Like Sleeping on a Cloud.
    The Modern Sleep Plush Hybrid Cool Gel Memory Foam and Innerspring mattress came in a 63"x13"x13" box. I pulled it out of the box and onto the bed with it resting on top of my bed's box spring. I carefully cut off the outer layers of plastic as instructed and rolled out the Modern Sleep mattress. It was about 2" thick. Now I carefully began to cut the remaining plastic cover around the sides. Immediately, the 2" mattress sprang to life and I was now staring at a 12" high queen size mattress as if I had waved a magic wand. Awesome! The mattress cover is beautiful. I left it overnight to continue recovering from having being so tightly sealed. The Modern Sleep Plush Hybrid has a pillow top and at 12" high, sheets with 'deep pockets' fit nicely. I've had a 'pillow top' mattress before, but it never felt as if I was sleeping on a 'pillow', but with the Modern Sleep mattress it does. I can't describe how wonderful it feels to get into this bed at night and allow it to comfort you, relax you. This Modern Sleep Plush hybrid mattress has 'Cool Gel Memory Foam' it states and what better way to find out than in a 100+ plus year old farmhouse in the mountains with no air-conditioning. The thermostat read 80 degrees at bedtime. Windows open, I climbed into bed and was immediately greeted with such luxurious comfort, it felt as if I had climbed onto a cloud. I tried all four sleep positions, on back, on left side, on right side and on stomach. Every position was comfortable, which was not so with my other mattress. And the Innerspring mattress provides internal support. This time of the year, I usually wake up in a tangle of damp sheets from sweating and myself soaked. I was amazed to find that I was comfortable and dry. Eighty degrees and I slept wonderfully on this mattress. I definitely have become spoiled. From now on, this is the only type of mattress I will consider. I really am impressed with the comfort of the Modern Sleep Plush 12" Hybrid mattress with cool gel and memory foam.
