Excellent Routers!
Amazing speed and range. Upgraded from RBR 50s and they are a significant improvement. Get coverage to our cabin and some of the barns. I did have trouble setting them up when before it was a no brainer. But with tech help we got them operational. A very fine product.

Received refurbished router
The review is based on my experience purchasing through Walmart.com and not the router performance. I paid for a new Orbi but received a refurbished unit sold through a 3rd party provider, Epic Deals LLC. The package was delivered in an Amazon box with an Amazon return QR code. Not a good look or experience purchasing through Walmart.

    Outstanding Coverage and Speed
    My new Orbi RBK852 has outstanding coverage and virtually no drop off in speed over my 3650 square foot condo. I am getting speeds of 934 mbs at the furthest distance from the satellite (I pay for 1000 mbs from my internet provider). I did disconnect the free Armor trial as my Orbi was dropping the internet signal over night when using Armor, requiring me to reboot the Orbi every morning. Turning off Armor solved the problem. I have 23 devices connected to the Orbi system and have no buffering when streaming movies or playing games. Just fast, smooth internet. I am very pleased!

    Whole Home Install pleased my spouse.
    I installed the ORBI Wifi 6 Base +1 Satellite system to replace a growing patchwork of ethernet cables and Apple extreme stations over last 15-20 years (much to my wife's appreciation). I placed base station in basement and satellite station on 2nd floor. Result wast flat out top performance performance everywhere in the house. I had an ethernet cable on the 2nd floor so I could directly compare speeds. On my 300mbs cable service the satellite delivered 337mbs vs the 346mbs of the direct connection! It also worked with my entire home automation system. Couldn't be happier

    It just works!
    Upgraded from the original Orbit Mesh system to the AX6000. Simple setup out of the box! The Wifi reach on just the main unit is strong. Having both units in play greatly improves uninterrupted wifi connection throughout our house and around our pool.

    I didn't think good WiFi existed
    We live in an older house where our WiFi router couldn't be centrally located. All it took was one satellite at the other end of the house and we're fully covered. Even extends to the street in front! Very satisfied with these.

    Great Mesh Performance
    I'm using in AP mode to retain our network configuration. Terrific improvement over previous wifi router and wireless extender. Hidden 5G backhaul channel works well and is less confusing to devices in our home. Orbi App is really handy though you really need to access via browser to handle full network configuration. Both are stable and easy to use. Strong wireless performance on 2.4G and 5G bands. Works well with streaming, phones and all of our home automation. Wall-mount bracket is available separately.

    Fantastic hardware, poor and limited firmware.
    Hardware is only as good as its firmware. The good: The WiFi speed and range is awesome! This reached way further than my nighthawk. The bad: The firmware and software. It is really slow and the features are INCREDIBLY limited. If you want anything beyond plugging it in and that's it, I wouldn't recommend this unit. For example, a lot of features that are available on most other routers aren't available here, like specifying a source IP address when setting up port forwarding, or specifying DNS IP addresses for your LAN clients. These little missing features just kept adding up to the point where I couldn't keep it and I'm planning on returning it. It's too bad because the hardware is fantastic, but the firmware is a dog's breakfast. Honestly, I was surprised that I was able to change the starting and ending DHCP addresses after using the firmware after a while. That was a nice surprise, but with missing features like this, I can't keep this unit, which is sad because the hardware is really good. I might see if they have an orbi product that is just a wifi access point and then I can put it behind my $60 router that I can use as DHCP/firewall has more functionality than the orbi router (that's pretty sad, IMO). I don't think I could justify spending $700 on access points, so I hope they sell a product like that. What made it more frustrating is when I tried to contact support and asked if there was any workaround, all I got was "why would you want/need to do that??" I found I really had to explain myself and my setup a lot when contacting Netgear, which was frustrating. Then I basically got the answer "you cannot do that". So even if I could find workarounds for these limitations, I definitely wouldn't purchase the Netgear support plan as it's essentially not very useful. When I asked about specifying the source IP for port forwarding, I was told that I could enable remote management on the router to do it from outside the home. When I tried to clarify that wasn't what I wanted and why I required it, they said that I could create an IP reservation. I just don't think they know the product very well, and they're probably just flipping through the manual. So, if you just need a good WIFI mesh at home and don't care about tweaking things and you just want an connection, this would be perfect. If you need to change some network settings, or have some special configuration requirements (eg: running your own DNS server), you won't be able to do with this firmware.

    Work's great except a issue with Honeywell
    It seems to have issues with Honeywell Lyric Round thermostats they can't connect to it! I had to bridge a old Router to connect it to!?
