Great value saw
Saw works very well. Previously had 2 gas powered saws. Could not get either one started. That's not a problem with this one. Seems to be just as powerful as the gas ones. Nice safety feature with chain break stopping it quickly after finished cutting.

Chain Kept on coming off almost every few cuts! I spent more time aligning the chain again and tightening it then I did cutting with it! Also boxed came damaged on my doorstep! Not sure, it is worth keeping? I need to give it a few more chances; before I send it back! It seems to have allot of kickback; I bought it because I liked the fact that it had a self sharpening feature! Not sure if it came dull to start with or not? I did sharpen it, it seemed better after this! But, I need to use it at least once more; before I change this rating? If I decide to keep it? I will rate it again then! - Mr, J.N.

    had to try it to believe it.
    I have used both gas and electric chainsaws and this one is by far the best electric one I have used. But it is the chain and sharpening that makes it the best idea I have seen. I will buy the oregon chain sharpening system for my gas saw also. It you havent tried this system you will be delighted by it performance.

    shipping on Oregon Chain Saw
    i love the saw. BUT it was not properly shipped. the bar extension og the saw was an elingated box (think bango shaped). they used this orginal box as shiping box. it broke in transit were the bar connects to the saw housing. i am crippke don't know if it runs or if all is enclosed. I purchased warranty insrance. delivery oerson had to use two hands to suppirt the box underneath to move it from van to myself. VERY poirlu engineered on your shipping department. We will talk.

    Great Saw
    This is a great saw. My battery powered 12 inch saw wasn't up to cutting up the trunk of a willow that had blown over. It was taking a day to make 1 cut on the trunk because I had to keep recharging the battery and my chain probably wasn't very sharp. This saw cut through the 14 inch trunk in about a minute! I already had a heavier extension cord that worked well.

    I like it better than my gas powered one
    Surprisingly, this thing is a real beast. I have a gas powered Ryobi, and for the most part, I like this elecric one better. The tool-less tensioning is great. I dont see it mentioned anywhere but I really appreciate the weird teeth in the front of the body of the chainsaw, before the chain begins. They really help to grip into large pieces and act like a lever to slowly work your way down. The only negative is that the bar tends to bend on large pieces and cut towards the right, but I can usually manage to correct by moving slower and favoring the left side.

    I needed a decent saw to cut up a few trees that fell in the yard due to high winds. The saw is easy to use and cut like a hot knife through butter. Very happy with this purchase so far.

    Great 18inch Chain Saw
    Great chain saw. Goes through big tree limbs like a sharp knife through an extra thick cut of beef. Not quite as fast as that, of course. Have used it to cut up a big maple tree and very pleased, so far. Have not used the self-sharpener yet. No idea how well that works.

    Take it apart and UNDERSTAND before us using!
    Before you use it, take it apart. Ie take the cover off the chain, learn how the Shaun comes off and study the chain lock and especially the chain adjustment screw after you unlock, adjust and relock. Then you won't complain like all the 1 star reviews that the chain came off . You will be prepared. As important: fill the oil chamber and check it/refill every 15 minutes of operation. The chain sharpener is brilliant. I bought an extra up front but should not need for a long tine if used properly. Don't get you too in the dirt! Keep your work off the ground and use the chain closer to the trigger vs the tip when possible to reduce saw kickbacks, and best utilize the safety kill lever . This is a solid tool and great value. Use a heavy duty extension cord preferably a 12 or 14 gauge vs normal 16/3 gauge light weight cord. Unplug when cleaning. Run sharpener just 5-7 seconds to tune up . I love no gas and much quieter than gas and no carbon monoxide!!

    Great saw
    So after hours and hours of research I chose the Oregon electric chainsaw. I did not want the hassle of gas saw maintenance and the ease of use attracted me. I followed the directions as written. I have had no issues with the saw so far. Ive had it for only one day and have used it to fell and cut apart 4 large trees, this thing is powerful and fast, So far Im very happy with the saw. And for the price you cant go wrong. The price I was quoted for felling just one tree was more than 3 times what I paid for it. So no matter what happens in the future, this saw has already paid for itself.
