Misleading Label; be patient, tough brush is toast
Effective, but as Hammer found out, grossly mislabeled. Calling a broad leaf herbicide "Ground Clear" is like calling a nail a "clamp".True enough, the subtitle is ACCURATE: it is a "Tough Brush Killer," IF you allow it to work for 4-6 weeks. However, most people, including Hammer read "Ground Clear" and they think they're buying a "kills all" herbicide. Tryplocler is for "woody," "broadleaf" species, but NOT: grasses. I think it is far more effective than "R-U" for Poison Oak, Blackberry, Buck Brush (ceanothus) and Scotch Broom. The latter two are very oily, making them very dangerous and effective ladder fuels in wildfire. In the Sierra Foothills, having Buck Brush and Scotch Broom on your property is like storing little cans of oil throughout your property. Hence, my use and endorsement of the former names of this product: Brush B Gon & Poison Ivy and the current confusing moniker Ground Clear Poison Ivy. Be Patient, it takes 4-6 weeks to be effective, but my experience since 1982 is that this stuff works. Hope your results are as good as mine.

not worth the money
It doesn't kill poison ivy as advertised. I even applied it in a stronger solution than instructed.

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/09/2021Worst weed killer everThis is no time killing the weeds. Firs time I diluted it per instructions and used my pump sprayer to spray it on weeds. A few days later I did See change so I sprayed a second time. When it still was not killing weeds I read the fine print that says it take some 2-4 weeks to kill weeds. I put some full strength on a poison ivy plant 5 days ago and its isnt even wilted. This is the worst weed killer I have ever purchasedLadyTohio

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/29/2021Works!Seriously kills the poison ivy that was all over our back yard wooded area. We've reapplied treatments to assure its gone and so far after 3 applications we are good. Hopefully this keeps it gone or at the very least managed.Itzasecret

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/16/2021Works on some things but not on othersI have an unknown vine I just can't kill and it will only kill top of Virginia Creeper. Did finally kill honeysuckle after 4 applications. This time poured 2 bottles into sprayer full strength hopefully it will get rid of the vines. DOES NOT KILL TO THE ROOT. TOO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GETPintoBeans

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/12/2021Well worth the spentI purchased this product to deal with a very invasive woody weed. It works great on killing poison ivy, Virginia Creeper, and this particular weed...Hemp Dogbane. Some of the other weeds that I applied it to began to die by the next day. The three weeds that I mentioned above began to turn yellow within a week. Ortho Groundclear kills to the root of the weeds to keep it from continuing to propagate. This product is concentrated, requiring only 4 oz. of product to 1 gallon of water. We mixed it in our pump sprayer for application. At this time, I definitely consider it a good value for my money but next year will be the real test, to see if the weeds come back. I think this battle with Hemp Dogbane will be a battle for many years to come, but with Ortho Groundclear as a partner, I believe I have a qualified partner.Vikki

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/27/2021Doesn't kill the grassPerhaps the formula has changed, I don't know. I've used this in the past with great success. I ran out and purchased a new spray container this spring. I used it hoping to edge my fence line and landscape edges as I have done in the past. I may as well have sprayed water because nothing happened. It's been weeks. I'm going to have to buy a different product and hope that one works. I guess I'll try a different brand and chalk this up to experience.judy55

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser03/15/2021ExcellentI have a back pasture fence that has been completely overtaken by brush and junk. A lot of hard work later, it's finally clear. I used this on the poison ivy patch I didn't want to go near and after a week, it's all dead. We'll have to see if it comes back, but so far it's shown no signs of resprouting.rrl63

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/08/2020Effective way to kill Poison Ivy and Tough Brush!I sprayed the Ortho GroundClear Poison Ivy and Brush killer on an area between my driveway and sidewalk a few weeks ago. The weeds are just now starting to yellow and die off. I applied the product using my 1 gallon pump sprayer, which I love because I can control exactly where I want the product to go. Don't expect results overnight, like the directions say, it will take 2-6 weeks for this product to kill the weeds to the root. This product works just as it should! Very happy with the results I am getting! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]Craft502
