Easy to use
It is difficult at best to trim a Great Dane's toenails but the Oster gentle nail grinder has changed that process. It does the job quickly without accidentally cutting too close. You don't need to be a groomer to use this easy-to-use device.

Does not work as described
This nail grinder only has one speed. It does not work any faster or slower than one speed. It is a little awkward as I normally hold my older nail grinder with my right hand but this works with holding it with my left hand. Also after doing my two front paws of both my dogs, there was no sign of the powder that comes with grinding their nails and their nails did not get shorter.

    This paw nail grinder is easy to use on your pets, comes with different attachments, has an adjustable guard for safety, and it also captures the trimmings. Very light weight and runs on batteries. Great product, I will recommend!

    Excellent option for nail trimming
    I received this product in exchange for a fair and honest review. I have tried this on 2 different dogs now and it went swimmingly well for one of them. The other is a ball of nerves so I wasn't surprised she didn't tolerate it. Overall, it was quiet though. This requires 4 AA batteries, and comes with 2 different heads and one replacement pad and 2 operating speeds. The difference with the heads is the grit of the sand paper. I know that this is advertised as a pet product, but this is very similar in design to a product I received as part of a manicure kit, however this works much better, is quieter and is easy on arthritic hands, albeit a little bit heavier. Overall, a good product that I would recommend to dog owners!

    Excellent for pet owners
    I just got Oster Gentle Paws Nail Grinder for my skittish 13 year old Pomeranian who hates hair cuts and grooming tools. I was pleasantly surprised she let me trim her nails, the motor is very quiet and I think that helped her not to be so scared of it. She has trouble getting up the stairs when her nails are too long , I'm so glad she let me trim her nails. I definitely recommend this to anyone who has difficulty grooming their pets nails.

    Less stress to my cats
    I'm in love with this nail grinder, It has two speed settings, I chose to use the first one. This made doing their nails soo much easier and they didn't seem to get over anxious with it. And their wasn't nails falling on the floor. This collected the shavings and all I had to do was empty it. And it has a led light and safety guard so ya don't go to far on their nails.

    The best thing!
    I got this to trim my dog's nails and I sure am glad I did. This is so easy to use and my dog is not afraid of of it. It has always been hard to trim her nails she gets so fidgety but now she sits calmly while I trim them. I love that it is easy to clean after trimming them . I love that it isn't loud either.

    I love my Oster Gentle Paws Nail Grinder!
    I am loving my new Oster Pet Professional Gentle Paws Nail Grinder!!!! I love how easy this product makes it to trim down my Pomeranians nails. She has separation and social anxiety so it's hard to get her groomed so I'm left doing it myself. This product is Gentle and works wonderfully!! It's not loud so Bitsy doesn't even realize half the time that I'm even trimming down her nails. I love how easy it is to clean when finished. This product is wonderful and I highly recommend!!!!

    Strong enough to trim both your cat and dog nails
    We never had one of these used on both our cat and dog before. We've always just used good old fashioned dog nail clippers. Doing the nails has always been a fight because they hate having them done.Over the past year , I've been horrible about keeping up with their nails (totally my fault), so they've grown longer than they should, and so has the quick. It was suggested to me to try one of these because it's less likely to cut their quick. I was pleasantly surprised with what came in the box. There are a couple different sand paper pieces, a (grinding piece) I and a grinding stone a well. I tried the grinding stone initially, but my dog's nails were just too long for it. I switched it to the heavy-duty sandpaper and it worked really well.Within a few minutes I managed to get the nails down fairly close to the quick without hurting him And this is from someone who has never used a nail grinder before (nor has my dog had one used on him). I ended up rotating nails every few seconds, like the instructions said. It recommended no more than about 4 seconds per nail at a time, so we swapped back and forth between her nails until they were all done. It didn't take long and my dog was pretty comfortable with the whole procedure, especially considering this is something we've never done before. The nail grinder isn't super noisy, the clear cover has nice holes that are different sizes, depending on your dogs nails, and it keeps most of the nail dust from spraying up/out. The only complaint I have is I have no idea if the locking button is locked or not and It doesn't really seem to make a difference if I push it in or not. I do wished the speed of the sanding wheel would go even faster then the two speeds for dogs with really thick nails. Don't think I'll be going back to regular nail clippers anytime soon! Parts and attachments ,are easily obtainable Safer then using a nail cutter and risking hitting the quick.

    I really like this Oster Pet Professional gentle paws nail grinder. My dog Raven always gives me a hard time when she needs her nails grinder down but after using the Oster nail grinder it was so easy. It is gentle and easy to operate and I feel safe using it on my dog Raven. I highly recommend it.
