Overall I enjoy the reel, although unfortunately I did not get to use the pole. I ran my line through the eyelets and onto the real and started filling it and within about 20 yards the tip snapped. I'm not sure what I expected for a pole that was effectively $40 although I did expect to get to use it fishing at least once. The reel on the other hand I thoroughly enjoy. It's simple to use and so far it's worked out quite well for how I'm use it. Although time will tell how well it holds up to the rigors of salt water and sand. The drag knob is easy to adjust and the drag lever is simple effective and accurate. The handle is comfortable and there is acceptable power in the retrieve. All in all I enjoy it and would recommend Penn squall 50 to friends although I would recommend they just buy the reel rather than the combo and save the extra $40.

    PENN Squall Lever Drag 60
This setup retails for $260 just about everywhere online and in-store. Happened to do a search and it came up at Walmart for $215. Confirmed it was the same make/model I was looking for and ordered right away. Arrived sonnet than estimated and in good condition. I will say though that the packing was sub-par for a fishing rod and had zero padding in the box, so it was dumb luck that it arrived undamaged. Would order this again and the price was excellent.

This combo is a great bottom reel!
The retrieve and drag on this combo is amazing! The extended fore grip on the rod helps a lot also!!

    Decent Combo
The rod and reel combo seem fine and can't wait to try them out. The rod seems a little lite and one of the frames on the tip are bent and the eye was slightly off center. Otherwise seem fine. We will have to see how they hold up.

Best combo for the price in class
Bought this a couple of weeks ago and it has been great. Solid rod and reel for the price. I'd say it's the best combat this size for the price.
