Very Impressed
Ha, the squirrels are left looking for scraps on the ground which is minimal. I have not seen a squirrel on the feeder, however it says if they jump on the feeder it has a seed shield which pulls down over the openings. I did try it using my fingers and it worked. I love the size and it holds 1.75 pounds of feed I use a classic wild bird feed that has all sorts of seeds, the birds have not had any problems. Pretty solid feeder, so far it has withstood squalls from a tornado warning, small hail plus the wind. This morning I checked and the seed inside was still dry after the storm. The feeder is about 18 1/2" long the opening to pour the seed in is about 2 1/2" wide, makes it very easy to pour the seed in and plenty sturdy. It has six feeding stations so the birds have lots of room, watching them they like to move around and try each opening. I have had as many as four at one time so far, both small and a bit larger. The feeding perch area is on the outside not attached to the tube.

Squirrels still rip it apart to get to the seeds
Thought it would work great since it does drop when squirrels get on it but I've had to buy and throw away 3 of them. The squirrels are able to reach the holes for the seeds and have started tearing it apart making the seeds fall to the ground, let water inside so the seeds mold and the top no longer stays on. I do keep it far enough away from the fence and any other jumping points and it's hanging on a tall sheppard's hook with a slippery pole but they figured out how to get to it any way.

    Flex ports are not durable
Flex ports are not durable . I have had this feeder only since March of 2021 and already have 4 of the 6 ports plastic fingers are eaten away leaving just the big open hole. I don't have many squirrels so don't know if they did it or the larger birds trying to get to the larger bits in the feeder have chewed them. This was not a cheap feeder and I'm disappointed it is mow unusable as the seed cannot be contained inside. Otherwise it is well built And pretty.

Great feeder, no mess of seeds on the ground
I don't really have trouble with squirrels due to how I hung the feeder. However one feature I do love about this feeder is that the feeding holes have silicon protecting he feeding holes from just dumping seeds as the birds feed. This is a fantastic feature that cuts down greatly on seed waste.

    Nice large bird feeder
This bird feeder holds so much food. It's fantastic to not have to fill it every few days. It's around 5” in diameter at the ends, the inner tube is a little smaller, and a whopping 19” tall. It is so unique that it has a wire grill over the tube that has metal leaves on it. It has six wire perches for the birds to sit on while they eat. There are six holes that the birds can get the food from but when the squirrels jump on it the leaves pull down to cover the holes preventing access to the food. It's quite a beautiful art piece in my yard and the cardinals here love it. The top opens to easily pour the bird seed in. Very thick and sturdy feeder that should last for many years.

    Frustrated squirrels
I received the Perky-Pet Squirrel-Be-Gone Max Bird Feeder 1.75 lb Capacity from the Spark Reviewer program for my fair and honest review. I absolutely love this bird feeder. At first, the birds wouldn't come to it. I had an older bird feeder hanging and hung the new one near it. The only thing visiting were squirrels on the very first day I hung it outside. They swung on it and tried getting food out of it. They got on the ground and tried to locate seeds that may have fallen. Well, not much must have fallen, because they seemed to get frustrated and got on the old bird feeder and got a little out of that one. Soon they gave up and left. Now they wait for the birds to drop their seeds and then come running! I am very glad to have received this bird feeder. It's working great to keep the squirrels from shaking out and eating all the seeds. I would love to get a picture of the feeder with birds on it, but no matter how quiet I am, they fly away before I can get a shot. I recommend the purchase of this bird feeder.

    Not perfect, not awful.
The Perky Pet Squirrel Be Gone bird feeder is a great concept, but sadly it isn't fully squirrel proof. It consists of a bunch of little decorative metal perches for the birds to perch & eat from. If a squirrel comes to try, the weight of the squirrel will activate the metal casing to come down and prevent them from eating the seed. I have noticed fewer squirrels than usual, but the smart ones can sometimes figure out how to outsmart the feeder. All and all, I would say this feeder deserves a fair rating. It does it's job for the most part and is entertaining to watch the trickster squirrels figure it out!

    Little birds love it!
I received this bird feeder as part of the Walmart Spark Reviewer program. This is so pretty and much larger than I had anticipated - which is a good thing! Of course, the bigger birds, like cardinals, cannot sit on the little perches, but we already have a squirrel-proof feeder they can and do use. The little ones, like nuthatches, buntings, etc., seem to love this new one, though! It also appears to be squirrel-proof so far, since the lid locks into position.

    Beautiful birdfeeder
I love this feeder. It goes beautifully with the rest of my outdoor area, it's easy to fill and set up and the birds really seem to like it. I havent seen how the squirrels do yet, but it looks like it will keep them out of the food. So very pleased with this feeder. I'm going to buy another one!
