Love it so far, but small charable area.
Its great. I love the coppery looking lid. Do a burn off, season, and get cooking. My first 5$ serloin on it was amazing using post oak. My chicken drumbsticks with Hickory was superb. Only issue is you can only cook a small portion over the actual flame. So if you want to get some char, you have to slide each burger over for a turn over the flame and the rest of the time they are just baking basically with the lid open as you move things so most of the heat is lost. But you can cook some good burgers, just slower if you want to char each side.

As you can see grill came with a huge dent in the back. The box wasn't damaged so it was sent this way. Too much trouble to send back but disappointing to say the least.

    Was very excited to get this for the on sale price. Put it together nicely but was disappointed to find the main plate already has some rust on it, not sure why. Please do better Walmart...

    Great smoker for the cost.
    The smoker doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the more expensive pellet smokers. To flame grill you must slide the burner cover over manually and there is no ash clean out so you need to vacuum out ashes, but at half the cost of most units, it's a great grill for the cost. Temperature is dead on.

    Pit Boss does not stand behind their product.
    Surface rust on the main flame broiler which Pit Boss does not consider under warranty even when the item is brand new. Look for another brand.

    Pit Boss Poor Craftsmanship
    Great grill poor craftsmanship. Leaked grease from hopper side on seam at bottom of barrel. Contacted CS and was sent silicone to seal their poor work after owning 6 days!

    Mine was not working out of the box. Ugh!!
    I like the grill, but it won't light with the glow rod, I have to take it apart and use a propane torch to use it. Very disappointing, I went to the Pitboss website and it said to contact your dealer for replacement parts. Not sure Walmart will be much help with that. So I might have to buy my own ignighter and install it to get it working, hopefully that fixes it. The Controller also seems to be acting up where it stops feeding pellets and wants to shut down, so one thing at a time but I am pretty disappointed that it wasn't working out of the box.

    Pit Boss "The Lexington" model
    I love cooking on my Pit Boss I recently purchased from Walmart. I cooked my first meal consisting of a bacon wrapped pork tenderloin. I preheated my smoker to the desired temperature,placed meat inside and inserted the temperature probe then kicked back and relaxed while my smoker did the rest. I watched the temperature from time to time and st the specified time according to the recipe and the temperature probe took the meat out. It was cooked to perfection with absolutely no hassle. I immediately fell in love.

    DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
    This Pit Boss and Walmart Customer Service, garbage. The box arrived with a huge hole in it and it was ripped up. I put it together, did an initial burn, all went well it seemed. Fired up per instructions, set temp to 225, for ribs. The temp never registered over 225, however, apparently the pellets never stopped pushing out and the whole inside caught on fire, it got so hot the paint bubbled and peeled. I called Walmart, they gave a return label but then stated I needed to put the over 100lb grill back into the box to return it, as I stated above, the box was ripped, I told Walmart this and asked if I could just bring it back to the store, was told no, just dispute the charge on your visa in order to get your return. I disputed the charge (as suggested by Walmart's Customer Service Department) it took Walmart over two months to reply, mean time the cut off to return was long gone. Walmart denied the dispute. Now I am stuck with a non functional, pellet grill with peeled paint. Walmart is about as useful as this grill!!! Side note: Pit Boss does not warranty paint and they will not replace Walmart's grills but they will send out repair parts, now I get to try to repair a brand new grill, if that doesn't work I will just throw this NEW non functional grill on the garbage pile.
