Very well made
The drone is well engineered. It was an easy set up. The drone flies well reaching great heights about 20 get is how high we tried. Meeting am acre or send to lose signal for control in terms of distance. If WiFi is weak, the drone just hangs in place and does not fall off. The remote is easy to maneuver. The app installed on the phone allowed you to get Ariel views. It takes sometime to set up for the visuals but once done you're all set. There is also an attachment that is provided to fix your phone to the remote controller, a great feature. The resolution on the camera is very good but I was unable to capture this on picture. Overall it provides hours of fun. We are still exploring it's possibilities but a great product, to sum up. Only drawback is that it consumed a lot of battery so make sure you have ample charge on them.

Loads of Fun
The drone is a lot of fun. My son loves it but the battery only lasts for about 17 minutes as most other drones do. The drone kept his attention for several weeks but he is only 12. He almost got the camera working on the second day but the battery died. Overall, it was a lot of fun.

    Very Fun
I took it slow with this. I first read the directions and learned to operate and fly it before I downloaded the app and used the camera. One mistake I ignorently made was turning it on for the first time in my garage. I recommend for the first use to be outside with plenty of room for mistakes. It didn't take me long to get the hang of it. It's fairly smooth flying. Human error will be your biggest enemy. There is a little setup, mainly just calibration. Took just a couple minutes. It has you turn it horizontaly and verticaly. At first it seems like it's not working but keep turning it, it will take. So I drained both batteries it came with and then downloaded the app so I could experiment with the camera. The app also has some directions and function control. The remote held my s8+ in it's case with no problem. It worked flawlessly. The cam can be manually pointed straight ahead or straight down and anywhere in between. There are a few fun preset controls on the app but I couldn't get "follow" to work as of yet. Probably user error. Picture and video quality was ok. You will need an SD card for the cam to work. The only downside I can see is the batteries give you 12 minutes run time for a 1:40 min charge. Might be worth buying a few extra batteries.

    Very Nice Drone!
The Protocol Kaptur GPS II Wi-Fi Drone with HD Camera is a high quality drone you can own. From our experience, this is one of the finest drone we own. Before trying to take it out of the box, read the instructions that comes with as the drone needs calibration and it's not just like a cheap toy. It needs concentration to fly this drone. The quality is excellent. It's stylish, professionally well built. The drone needs to be charge before you can fly it. It takes time so charge it right away when planning to fly it. This is a great gift for older teenager. The young ones, an adult can help fly it. It takes practice to fly the drone correctly. The GPS feature is excellent which we love it a lot. The quality of the picture and videos taken are great. You have to go to a park or somewhere that doesn't have lots or obstacle to fly thr drone better. Overall, I recommend Protocol Kaptur GPS II Wi-Fi Drone with HD Camera, you will have tons of fun flying it. The quality, the control, the features is excellent.

Pretty good drone...when set up exactly
I'll start by saying this is first ever drone or even remote anything I've ever owned so these comments are from complete noob. It took me a good a 30 minutes to set up drone and get it airworthy (not including blade guards installation. More on that later.). Would've been about 20 if I had followed directions included inside the drone box and NOT the app or pamphlet that's included with the controller. *ONLY follow the directions in the booklet included in drone box* The box includes everything you'll need: charging cable, 2 batteries, preassembled drone, spare blades and cell phone holder controller. The guard blades were impossible to "just snap in" but watched a video on how to loosen motors from legs in order to install blade guards. *way easier just be careful not to strip the screws when unscrewing/pulling apart.* The video quality is HD and drone does not seem to fly any differently when recording. It will fly straight up into the air very high on initial launches and return to a low hover once it found satellite signals. The batteries do not last long but comes with 2 which is nice but instructions say let drone motors cool off for about 15 minutes between flights (ie battery life) so not good to switch out batteries real quick then send it back up. It takes a minute or two to calibrate and sync etc before each flight but the steps are fairly easy/repetitive that I'm getting quicker.

I got it up in the air!
My 16yo son was super excited getting the Protocol Kaptur GPS 2 Wi Fi Drone with HD Camera. Right off the bat, he was glad it came with it's own screwdriver, extra blades, and blade guards. It's fairly easy to get it ready to fly, but if you have any problems, there's the manual, and the You Tube video to help with instructions. The controller is easy to use, and it took us a little bit to get it synced up. For some reason the wi fi would sync, then lose it, but finally got it, and took it out. Also for some reason, when we take it out, sometimes we can't get the camera or video to work, I'm not quite sure what we're doing wrong when it happens. I am thankful there is a beginner's mode, since I'm a beginner. The GPS return home is great to have, the low battery return, and crash resistant materials.

Easy For First Time Drone Users
All right I have to say this is my second drone that I've owned. The first one I owned was cheap I crashed it once and it broke. I've been leery about getting another one but I've always wanted to do drone videos and drone photos. This Kaptur GPS 2 is amazing. All right first thing you wanna do when you get your drone is to start charging the batteries. This comes with two batteries that last over 10 minutes long each which is fantastic. To charge them it takes a while so start charging them as soon as you get it. Do you not be in a rush to do this a drone is fragile and expensive so be careful with it. That being said my First flight I crashed into a tree. I was terrified I broke it. But but it was fine. The tree snuck up on me once you start flying it it does go fast .So do not do it the first time near any trees if you can. First time should be in the most open field possible. The drone comes with extra blades it comes with a little screwdriver which you'll need to remove the cover and you need four AA batteries that are not included. They are very good instructional videos from their website I highly recommend you watch them before you start to play with your drone. You need to calibrate your drone so pay attention to the video and do exactly as they say. I flew my drone in the park there was no one around which was good because it goes very fast so you have to be very careful and watch your surroundings. You can add a memory chip to the camera or you can tape right from the app. I taped right from The app I may beautiful videos and photos. I will attach A photo that I took with the drones camera. I have a YouTube channel I could not load the video directly from the app to the YouTube channel. I had to download the video through iMovie app first then it loaded perfect to my YouTube channel. I am thrilled to all this drone the remote is very similar to an Xbox or a PlayStation remote. I attached my iPhone to the handle and I was To watch what the drone was saying and doing through the iPhone. This is a fantastic first drone it is well made works great it handled the crash into a tree and still worked fine. This definitely is for older children as young children would not have the patience it takes to maneuver the drone it takes a while to get used to but it is fun. As we speak I am charging my battery so I can go out and do it again. This is a wonderful gift for a Older teenager and it would be fun to do with your parents. I am looking forward to making many many drone videos with my new drone.

    Awesome for sport or pleasure
This drone is so amazing. When you power it on on the speed of the propellers is captivating. It takes some precision or some getting use to, but you will have a barrel of fun. My 10 year old did much better than my 19 year old son and I. Between the three of us we managed to clip some trees, fly into the house a few times and flew into a car. We have not downloaded the app yet to actually video or take pictures, just trying to fly it alone was so much fun. This definitely made for some great family fun. I would without a doubt recommend this drone to family, friends and strangers alike. You can't go wrong with this purchase. It comes with two rechargeable batteries and a usb charger (you need your own end piece).

    Perfect gift for a teenager!
Let me start with my first overall impressions: The packaging is very nice; it comes securely fastened with everything already attached (except for the plastic guards – these are very easy to attach to the landing gear). The drone is very light in weight and made of mostly springy plastic. It also comes with the remote control, phone attachment piece, screwdriver, two batteries, and extra propellers. Also, inside the box is a manual, instructions for installation, and a 50% coupon for spare parts from their site. Set-up: The first thing you need to do is download the Kaptur application (on ios and android). It is very easy to navigate. Next, go ahead and install the propeller guards, they clip to the white landing gear. Charge up your batteries: it comes with a USB-A cable, you can charge with a charging block (I used an old iPhone block, or via your laptop). Each batter charges from 0 to full in about 20-30 minutes and hold about 15 minutes of fly time, for a total of 30 minutes flight time with both batteries. After your battery is charged and in place, you're ready to fly! Flight: The app itself has some quick info guides to get you started with the controls. The first thing you must do before every flight is a quick calibration. The app will walk you through this each time and it only takes a couple of minutes. My only complaint with the calibration is that it notifies completion of each step with light changes. The lights on the drone are hard to see in direct sunlight. The app itself has many built-in features: return home, follow, orbit, and waypoint mapping. The interface also gives you information about the drone including vertical/horizontal speed, altitude, and distance. The app also lets you record, take photos, change to VR mode, and shows the GPS/Wi-Fi signal and battery level. You can save footage to the app or directly to an SD card. There's also a return home, and take-off/landing bumper buttons to make those things easier (one button). The drone also has built-in adjustable geo-fencing, you can limit the distance and altitude the drone will go to from the starting position. This will prevent it from wandering off too far to unreachable places. It can also hold and hover and will automatically return home if the battery gets too low. FYI, do not use the “return home” feature unless you are in a clearing as the drone does not have object avoidance built in. If a tree is in the pathing, it will crash. Camera Quality/Movement: This is where you can tell this is a budget drone. The camera quality, while HD, is only 720p. When streaming and recording video, the framerate can drop if the drone is at a distance. It uses a Wi-Fi signal to connect to the controller. The movement of the drone is stable unless you are making quick turns. Other than that, all of the features worked great for me. It doesn't compare to high budget drones like the DJ, but those are also 4-5 times the price, so keep that in mind. For the value, I highly recommend this drone as a beginner drone or as a gift to a young aspiring drone pilot. Overall: This is a great beginner, budget drone that I highly recommend starting out with to learn the controls for practice. The picture quality could be better, but for the budget I cannot complain. The app works seamlessly, and the controls work great.

    Amazing little drone
We've only ever gotten the little cheap drones but my husband longed for a quality drone with a camera. The problem was, they were just a little out of our price range. Not only is it affordable but the camera on this is real quality! We've only had it 2 days and have had so much fun with it. It's lightweight, fast set up, instructions for calabrations were easy to follow and battery life is decent. It comes with 2 batteries, so that's super awesome. We did get it stuck in a tree and it survived the fall. Overall, we are extremely satisfied. 10 stars!
