Fast, Easy Assembly, Sturdy Construction, VALUE!
I've owned a couple of Rubbermaid outdoor storage boxes over the years and this one is BY FAR the best one I've ever owned. After reading some of the less than favorable reviews here, I can't, for the life of me, figure out how my experience is so much different from the experience of those who are leaving negative reviews. First, assembly was a breeze. I had this box completely assembled in under 15 minutes. Maybe it helps if you have the space to spread out, like I did, but whatever the case, everything is clearly marked and the directions are plainly written and easy to follow. Second, it's a big box, so I was a little concerned about the integrity of the lid when under a load, due to the span it covers. Well, I'm the load and I don't notice any indication that this won't hold two over-sized adults, easily. Third, considering the amount of stuff this thing will hold, I found it to be the best bang for my buck. I admittedly shopped around a bit and found a great, fully delivered price, but even retail seems right in line with the other junk on the market (believe me, there are a couple of brands I didn't even consider when doing my research). The bottom line is that the box I bought was easy to assemble and is plenty sturdy for outdoor storage, with the bonus of extra seating on the patio. It's tough and all panels fit together very well. There is no bowing or binding. I didn't install the lid strap, because I can't open the lid past 90 degrees, due to the fact that it's up against a wall. It seems like it would help for anyone who can open it past 90 degrees. I expect this to last me many years and I'm so pleased with it, I'm considering a second unit, just for the flexibility it gives my outdoor space. I wish I had more info for those of you who have had less desirable experiences with yours but I'm at a loss as to how that could even be possible, considering how well mine performs. Highly recommended for those who need inexpensive outdoor storage.

Parts do not fit
I bought this a few days ago and the pieces do not fit together properly you can see daylight where the parts should fit together. there was a puncture hole in one side and the top doesn't close its off by inch or more. The whole thing is warped, junk.

    False Advertising
    This item is advertised as being made using resin, it is not, it is ABS plastic. It is large and it is double walled and much nicer than the other boxes I have but I probably wouldn't have purchased it if I knew the correct material. Shame on Rubbermaid for false advertising!

    Defective product comprising inappropriate polymer
    I bought the XL of this box on account of prior positive experiences with the Rubbermaid brand, but was left disappointed, as such will re returning it for a full refund (thank you Walmart). The box is easy to assemble (snaps together without any tools), however, within a few days, gaps opened up along the joints, rendering it prone to leakages. The gaps were so pronounced that that lid would not close properly. The box was kept in a shaded area under a deck and I live in Vermont, therefore, it is unlikely that any unreasonably extreme heat could have caused the warping. As I only stored a few outdoor cushions, there was little, if any un-sprung mass pressing on the sides that might have resulted in the warping. Therefore, as a materials engineer, I suspect that Rubbermaid selected an inappropriate polymer for this application. If Rubbermaid's design intent was to develop a deck box to be used outside, where there are variable climatic conditions, then they needed to have specified a polymer with mechanical properties that are suitable for the application conditions.

    Just what I need.
    To begin with, I read reviews on this product and thought about not buying it. But I notice the positive reviews far exceeded the negative reviews. And knowing that Rubbermaid makes quality products, I thought I will buy it. Unlike a few negative reviews. Mine went together easily and the panels all locked solidly. The lid sits perfectly and the unit as a whole should easily protect mu patio furniture cushions from inclement weather. Time will tell how good it works, but for now, I am extremely pleased with this purchase.

    Good price for light storage
    Great price for the size and storage capacity. Must hold open as it has no spring or pressure gadgets. Also, cannot overpack at all as sides which snap into place will pop off. I put a pulley type strap around it to help secure. That seems to work well

    I loved how quickly this item snaps together yet is sealed tight. Definitely worth the price. Large capacity. I can fit 4 full size chair cushions and pool toys, patio umbrella. To give an idea of size i placed 2 large coolers side by side and the bin is still longer. There's so much room. Very satisfied

    Poor quality - buyer beware. Very easy to put together, but wall joints have large gaps and top does not close/fit properly. Now with all the pollen falling, everything inside is covered in it. I will be returning.

    It should've been a piece of cake cake to put together, But for someone who is not very handy and has trouble with directions I had to call for help.     Needs re-engineered to not fall apart when open
    I had to buy bungie cords to wrap around the body of the box because there are no hard connections between pieces, so when you open the lid the assembled panels for entire box separate and it falls completely apart. Very poor design - the engineers really blew it on this one. Note 2nd photo where pieces are moving.
