Outstanding Picture Quality
I was looking to upgrade my Samsung 52" TV and came across the new line of Samsung QLED 4K Televisions. Wow! What an amazing product. I received my 65" Q70 R and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to open / remove the set from the well-packed box. I have initially installed the included legs to place the unit on a table but plan to hang the TV shortly. The legs easily slide in and out, and the TV stands securely on a table top. Setup was incredibly easy through the Samsung SmartThings App on my Samsung Phone. I was a bit surprised at the simple design of the included remote. We were used to remotes with a crowded design with buttons for everything. However, it is truly simple, but functional. There are individual buttons for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu which make online content viewing super easy. When the television is turned on, the Samsung Smart Hub appears at the bottom of the Home Screen. This can be disabled if you wish to have the set turn on to the last source, but the Smart Hub is only one button away! The picture is amazing. While 4K content may not be as prevalent as one would hope, it appears many sources are upgrading their HD to 4K to meet the demand. With that said, both HD and 4K picture quality on this Samsung is simply amazing. The colors are vibrant and rich, and the blacks are black. 4K content streamed from Netflix is amazing. The sound is ok, but a separate audio system or soundbar would complete any family room. The television has the capability to Bluetooth connect to other speakers including the Samsung products. We are still playing with the Ambient mode which allows you to display included Decor, Artwork or your personal photos when the television is not in use. Once we hang the TV, this will add a nice touch to the room. So far, we are truly satisfied with our purchase, and are still exploring the features of the television. Poor manufacturing quality
The TV was just mounted and while removing the protective film part of the screen came off with it. Samsung support first said the screen was cracked then later called it an installation error and voiding the warranty. Poor quality and even worse customer support experience.

I too Love Samsung TV's, but like someone else said I too feel this TV is not as bright as my 46C6500 edge Lite LED Samsung. I feel that this TV has a lot of great features and the sound is awesome for TV speakers. I highly recommend this TV, to anyone who is looking for a all around solid performer, and with the full array with Local dimming the Blacks look wonderful. I will say I was hoping for the one connect box so that was disappointing and I also hope that Samsung will improve the TV with updates down the road. But it's a 5StarRickiey4

This TV has some great features like the AI 4K processor which is great for upscaling cable and other lower grade content, the full array panel does a really good job and there isn't light blooming like on edge lit TV's and many other great technologies. However this TV doesn't get as bright as I would like it to and I haven't been able to find the right picture settings to get that perfect picture like I wish I could. The lack of the one connect box as well as No Dolby Vision is disappointing even though HDR10+ content looks great. We have an HU8500 upstairs that has a better and brighter picture and I just want to get this thing looking at least as good as it. I'm not sure if brightness is something that they can add through a software update maybe by allowing more power to the LED's but I'm hoping that's possible as I have 1 week to return this TV and I TRULY DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO. LOOK, I love Samsung TV's as we have had many of them over the years. This TV is a Great TV with some Great features but for some reason leave and me with more to be desired. I though about a professional calibration but that's expensive. If your looking to buy this TV I do however recommend it even though I have a couple issues it's still an excellent Television!Russ5tide

It took me about an hour from delivery to get the TV set up and playing. The directions on how to get it set up were easy to read and follow. When setting it up I liked the sleek design, remote control style/buttons and how sturdy the tv sits on the legs provided. For me the show stopper is the screen size, picture quality and ease of use off all the functions of this TV. The sound and picture quality is the best I have ever experienced. My at home movie watching has been upgraded significantly the details I now notice watching movies at home is great. I can see texture on peoples skin and its so crisp and clear. Sometimes it feels like I am seeing some of these movies for the first time because of all the details I now notice. The quality is so good I keep thinking it looks live like I'm seeing this in person. I have not stopped telling friends, coworkers and family about the tv. I have been using the smart things app to mirror my samsung phone image to the tv and it easy to do with the app. I also have used my phones hotspot and it works well in conjunction with the TV. If you don't have cable or dish there are other ways to access movies, prime video, hulu and other other apps on the TV just by using your phone. Imagine that a 65-inch should be difficult to lift and install, but the in fact unboxing is designed to be so easy and simple (less than 5min). It is thoughtful that even the both left and right stands comes with a feature that power cords can be hidden seamlessly. My family couldn't be happier about how amazing the picture quality is! The sound is amplified; the color and motions are truly realistic and vivid. We watched a few Disney movies and other trailers that we watched on our old TV before: this is the first time we noticed these much details on human skin, animal furs and even fabric materials on character's clothes! The TV automatically found my Samsung Note 9 and other devices quickly. The remote can access to my soundbars as well. It is also fantastic that my YouTube account could be found and signed in on the TV by ONLY ONE TAP on my phone. No email & pw required, totally painless. The ambient mode completes my wall like a piece of huge art when we are not watching the TV. The color tones, brightness can be customized with featured background to be fitted with my living room lights and atmosphere. The excitement continues and we couldn't ask for more!LaoK94

And the sound is just as amazing. My son is so excited to play his video games. He says the colors and way better and my husband said he could actually see the basketball players faces so much clearer! There is no lag in the game to TV output. The setup was easy and the TV connected to our home wifi quickly. After that it was easy to download my cable app and set up Netflix. There are a lot of things this TV can do. It allows us to stream right from our phone, or link to a photo album and set screen savor. I really like the design of the TV and slim view. It has cable routing carriers built into the back that allow you to clip your HDMI or Cable into and route to the edge or through the TV stand itself. This TV is great for watching sports or any high def shows. The picture quality is there even streaming all my cable shows through the app (now I can return a cable box!). The 2019 "Quantum Dot LED TV" brings crisp clarity and colorful brightness that outshines other competitors, bringing an exceptional experience to first time QLED users such as myself. One aspect of the QLED TV was to connect to the Smart TV function and in connecting to the internet, the Apps pre-installed in the television had a great selection. Without adding additional digital antennae, I was able to get several channels programmed for view. But it was in streaming from Netflix and Amazon Prime Video that the Samsung 70R shined the most - an impressive aspect of the QLED technology! Why would you want it? You've never seen color on a screen like this before, the moment that the screen tunes in the million shades of details, you are fully immersed into it's beauty and then a gasp releases - It. Is. Breathtaking! The Sound is also impressively clear, even without a sound system, although adding a surround sound with subwoofer will increasing the eargasm of sensation. This is in the first week of discovery of the Samsung 65" QLED 70R - can't wait to discover more of this beauty, especially the ambient mode and when I get together with friends for movies and a game night! I've seen a few deals on the 77 OLED lately for 4 grand, but this is a better fit for me. 1. It's bigger. 2. It's bigger...lol jk. If big was all that mattered to me I would've gone with the 85" sony 900f or new 850g... 3. FREESYNC or what people are calling VRR and having ALLM (auto low latency mode) made my choice very easy. I play a lot of games. Xbox one X and PS4 PRO....4. reality is oled's have burn in....so as a gamer that's a huge negative/risk you take. 5. Response times on the samsung's are getting close to my monitor's, so you can play shooters and not lose out to lag like you would with other large Sets. 6. Samsung's new game modes avoid crushing blacks too and looks awesome playing horizon zero dawn, tomb raider, and everything else. 7. The panel can do 120hz QHD....this is great for PC gaming/ Xbox one X. 8. having massive Viewing angles ( like those of an OLED) just dont matter to me. I sit in front of my TV, and you should too. 9. Cost. I found a discount on the set, and with Samsung's TV upgrade program I can sell this TV in a few years and still get a nice discount on another set from samsung. I'm pairing the TV with the HN-950 7.1.4 Samsung Dolby Atmos sound system. I'll share more on that once my setup is complete. Negatives- Big TV means heavy...Like 100 pounds heavy. Huge box made it tricky getting into the basement....but I managed. I would prefer just google integration. I have an S9+ and ive never used bixby and probably never will....so a little more google integration would be nice. This TV has full array local dimming, but it doesn't have the best picture ever....but im good with that as explained earlier. I'm using this with the HN-950 7.1.4 Samsung Dolby Atmos sound system. Why didn't I get the Q90R or go 8k? Because I'm not made of money....and the differences are only noticeable if the TV's are side by side. I'd much rather have the 82 inch then pay the same amount and get a smaller "higher end" TV. What do I want from samsung? An affordable 98 inch set please! Projectors just dont pack the punch for me, and I would go bigger if the price was reasonable. Looking forward to the Wall. I'll update my review once I've spent some more time with the set. This is my first smart television and I just can't stop raving about it! When it was delivered, I couldn't believe how simple the installation instructions were, especially with only 2 cords to plug in. Set up was easy and straightforward- I didn't even need to open the manual. Adjustments were obvious, and it was fun to play around with it to find the perfect settings. And I love the slim-line design, no more bulky, heavy tv. But what excites me the most is the vibrant picture with absolute brilliant color. The upgrade is so noticeable in comparison to my old set. To get a true sense of this, I turn it to ambient settings while not watching programs- it's almost like having a piece of art in my living room! I also love the different sound settings- it truly is crystal clear. I was also pleasantly surprised how easy it was to navigate the smart tv features, as I couldn't wait to start using my Amazon prime tv subscription. Once again, I didn't even need to refer to the manual, as the button was right on the remote. Steps are straightforward, saving me both time and frustration. I also appreciate the convenience of using my iPhone as a remote. It's obvious that Samsung did their research, as this product blew away my expectations- from specifications to ease of use. Overall, I'm so thrilled with my tv and can't wait to discover new features. Hands down, Samsung nailed it and I am one happy customer!AnnieL
