Useless pile of junk!
I made a mistake and purchased a piece of Sauder furniture, just because it looks soo beautiful in the picture! I have assembled multiple pieces of furniture in the past 20 years-I have even designed and made my own furniture from scratch! I have bought 2 other Sauder pieces this past year, and was extremely disapointed with the quality- I was hoping the 3rd time would be a charm, but it wasn't. I assembled this exactly according to the directions. Then my 5'10'' teenager and myself turned it up [you assemble it flat on it's back on the floor]- and the entire bottom buckled and broke! The hutch and desktop were fine-but the base section was useless-I had splinters and particle board chunks all over the room. Due to it's extreme weight-the desktop alone weighs 75 lbs, it's around 150 w/the hutch attached- I decided to "make" a new desk by placing the desktop and hutch ontop of an old desk and bolting it with L brackets to the wall. There was no way I was going to spend 3 hours dissasembling it, gathering up all the broken bits and wood, and hauling it all back down 2 flights of stairs and to my truck. I actually called my favorite junkmen to come get rid of the broken bottom pieces the next day- just getting it upstairs piece by piece, then having the dang thing fall apart after I spent five hours assembling it was ENOUGH. I will never ever ever buy ANYTHING from Sauder again!

    Very nice!
This is a nice computer desk for the money! Some reviewers mentioned that directions were lacking, but we had NO problem whatsoever, so not sure why people had trouble. We found that it was super easy to read and put together in just a few hours! All the parts were included, and all pieces were marked. It does get heavy after putting it together, so make sure you put it together near the area it is going to be at. Very pleased with this desk.

    Great Desk
This desk is VERY heavy! It took me 6 hours to put it together by myself, but I needed help to lift it up. I wouldn't recommend moving it more than you have to. It's very sturdy, but it's just particle board. It is also very big! It's almost 5 feel wide, so be sure you have room for it. I really love it so far. It's beautiful - it looks like a $2000 desk for a fraction of the price. There is plenty of leg room, though I did have to remove the sliding shelf for the keyboard because I need my chair to be partially under the desk at times and the chair arms hit the shelf. I keep the mouse and keyboard on top of the desk.

Perfect Desk for Small Office Space
I love the style and color. Perfect size for my basement office space. This was the only hutch I could find for my 23" monitor. I LOVE IT!

For the money this piece is a beauty! Looks very nice and more pricier than it really is. Only have a couple of complaints. The instructions are incomplete and skip steps but if youve put furniture together before its not to confusing and you can figure out the missing steps failry easily. Second complaint is the bottom file drawer doesnt fit well and is extremely tight and very difficult to open and close. Will have to look into it further and figure out a fix. Aside from that this piece is exactly what I was looking for! PS. Definitely do not attempt to put this together by yourself and have a good chunk of time set aside. It took me and my teenage son about 5 hours to put this together.

I spent weeks on the internet looking for the perfect matching bookshelf, and desk with a hutch for my office/guest room. I didnt realize it would take so long to find what I was looking for. I searched all of the furniture stores and discount sites, including amazon. I did not want to pay too much as I do not anticipate using it very often. Needless to say it was so hard finding a bookshelf and desk with hutch that looked nice and was inexpensive. I came across the Sauder Harbor View products and looking at the picture, they looked great. But every website was a little expensive. I decided to use the "search" option on Walmart.com and I found it. As usual, Walmart had the best price. I was nervous as to how it would look when I recieved it. Man was I happy when it came! It looked great!! I know it was not superior quality wood, and I did not expect that for the price. It is sturdy and looks great in my office. It was alot bigger than I had initially expected, but that is what makes it great! It looks alot more expensive than I paid for it too. Most of the other desks I found on the internet and in stores in the same price range looked really cheap. Feel definitely comfortable buying this desk as it is way better than the picture would show. The only drawback it that it took forever to build. My daughter and I did it without help from my husband (mostly). I think we spent 7 hours on it. The desk and the hutch came in two boxes and the parts were not separated according to the two pieces. Everything is mixed together so you have to open up both boxes before you start. However, the instructions are not incredibly easy to follow. The only real complaint I have is that the instructions to put this thing together are not that great. It was espcially difficult putting on the door on. I could not seperate the hinges as they were pictured in the book. I also found that some steps were skipped and not explained. Do your best to read the minimal directions they give you, but focus more on what the picture shows. You will know if you followed all of the steps if you see a part in the picture that you did not put on yet. Also, definitely take your time to separate all the pieces before starting, even the hardware. This way you have a good picture of what you need and have before you start working. Finally, remember this is a value product and not the best quality so be careful how you lift it! My husband with his "super human strength" tried grabbing on the side molding of the hutch to lift it and ripped that piece clear off!!! Fortunately, we were able to glue it back and the damage isnt obvious. Make sure you have 2 people to lift and try to lift from the back. All and all, it's a great product especially for the price!! It was worth all of the hardwork!

Great Buy, but not as Pictured
The picture on your website is not the picture of the product and should be updated. The color is most certainly very dark brown/almost black with antiqued bronze drawer pulls and the writing surface is the same color as the rest of the desk. Assembly is moderately difficult and will take some time. I'm still very pleased with the desk.

    Very nice product!
It is heavy. Arrived in two boxes, both over 100 lbs. The delivery person helped bring it in the house, it is a two man job. Need two people to put it together too, as you would not be able to lift it up by yourself after assembly. Very nice product, highly recommended!
