Much better software and feature set than Cricut.
I tried both this and the Cricut, and my take is that if you are at all technically minded, and you don't mind learning a new software, then the Silhouette machines are much more capable and you'll get a lot more out of them. If you're planning on making sticker sheets, the Silhouette is the only option becuase the print and cut feature on the Cricut machines is extremely limiting. I'd only recommend the Cricut for someone who only wants to cut out single color vinyl shapes and letters. Anything past that, go with Silhouette. It's worth spending more money.

It's super hard to calibrate it. Software is confusing and I'm tech savvy. No real instructions…. Cricut is more user friendly and less complicated. Cricut has limited cutting sizes for print and cut vs the cameo.

    if you're into crafting and making your own decals, this is a great machine! there is a learning curve but youtube will help you get your bearings.

    No power after troubleshooting all.
    I purchase this in January of last year. I never new how to use it, so it stayed boxed up for almost a year. When I finally started teaching myself per videos, I started little projects. Well it powered of and never came back on. Ordered a new cord and it still doesn't power on. Help!!

    This is a downgrade from the last model
    Long time silhouette owner here, I've had a cameo 2 since 2017 and a cameo 3 last year and now this cameo 4. I'm pretty disappointed in this new one. The good: -It's faster -Separate channel for using pens The bad: -It has a high pitched hiss noise when the machine is on, even when it isn't cutting. -they got rid of the screen, so you cannot press “repeat job”, you have to go back to the computer to repeat. Cameo 3 can do “repeat job” -Bluetooth doesn't work -half the time when I send a job to the cutter, it tells me the tool could not be detected. The new model has a sensor to know what tool is being used but this causes me more troubles and slows down my work flow. I need another one to keep up with orders but I think I'd rather get a used Cameo 3 for $100 rather than this.

    I love it!
    I love this thing! I use it to cut out my logo on heat transfer paper. I use photoshop to print my logos and then the software that comes with this to cut them out. It takes a lot of trial and error to get the cuts to line up just right, but its great once its set.
