Exceeded expectations
Starts every time. Easy to maintain. Ran for days during recent outages. Note that the bigger plug is 120 for RVs, not a 220 for your house. Its durable, heavy, and its not quiet, but it gets the job done for a good price.

wired wrong
This generator has reverse polarity. I found out after using my G-N bonding plug to eliminate the "no ground" fault with my Progressive EMS50X. Then the reverse polarity showed up and I found the gold lines hooked to the silver neutrals and it ends up wrong on the 30 amp rv plug. A simple 180* rotation of the rv plug lets you hook the wires correctly and also lets you plug in an rv cable a lot easier than having the bar in the way. I sent emails to the manufacturer and they did reply but nobody seemed to care. Buyer beware if you have sensitive electronics in your rv

    Good generator !
Second Sportsman generator. I used it for about 18 hours and it ran perfectly. I sold the first one (2000 watt) in 2 minutes after a storm knocked out the power overnight. I bought the 4000 watt generator to replace it. For what you pay, you get a lot! I put a double-dose of Marine Sta-Bil in the fuel and broke it in for a half-hour with no load, let it cool down, then ran it for another 30 minutes with a light load to seat the rings and brushes. The 3rd time was warm-up for 5 minutes then a 3000 watt intermittent load. It's easy to start and runs good. Recommended A !

Very disappointed. Price was very low.
Made with extremely poor materials. Had it about a month and metal pieces are already failing. Pot metal attachment points have broken in two places.

A Dual-Fuel Generator with an Affordable Price
I like this generator a lot with its many uses. And the fact that it is dual-fuel, makes it that much better. This is a Sportsman Generator that is made very well, at a price I can afford. Follow all the instructions, and wear ear protection when it is being use! Because it is a loud generator. But it is one that works for me.

Generator is actually almost 19" high, not 16.5" H like the description says. Doesn't fit in my generator box on my enclosed trailer. UGH! Now I have 2 days to figure out something else before we leave on our trip. Generator seems like it would work great if I can find another larger box in time.

purchased twice regret for both times
I thought the first one I got must have just been bad luck made the mistake of ordering a second when have not got too much use between the two of them warranty was not validated on the first one I didn't bother getting the warranty on the second one just to get screwed on it too and my entire home runs on a generator so here I am with no power again thanks for making the mistake of buying the same generator would not recommend it if your life depended on it as mine literally does and it has certainly no good only repurchased due to price and being a low income single mother price was just beyond what i could afford for a better one

    Works great!
We had a power outage last night so I actually got to test it. I added the oil, hooked up the propane bottle, set the choke to start, turned on the fuel petcock, pushed the button to ON, and pulled the cord.... Bam! It started right up and ran smooth while I plugged in my fridge, a light, the computer, and cooked a steak and some rice for supper. I also had my guitar amplifier on and I had my phone charging. I have no complaints at all. As a safety precaution it urges you to buy a ground rod and connect it via wire to the grounding nut on the unit. I bought all that for when I go camping, but I have no place to drive the rod in where I am, so I just ran it without. I didn't mess with it after I started it. The next time I touched it was to turn the unit off- just being cautious - but I didn't really need to touch it until my power got restored. I'm really happy with this product.

    Happy with this 4000 generator!
This was much more generator than I originally wanted but the on sale price was actually a bit lower than the unit I was considering so I chose this 4000 series. I'm fully satisfied with my purchase. Unboxing and setting it up was easy, the instructions are thorough and make sense. It only took 15-20 minutes to get it ready to start up, including the wheel kit. Since it's quite heavy I'd suggest spending the few more bucks for that and I also got the cover it's only $20.

Definitely a good solution for my purposes.
Because generators are often used infrequently, it is very common for the gasoline to go stale in them. I intend never to put gasoline in mine. LP gas (propane) works fine and in fact it starts uncommonly easy, which I attribute to its LP fuel source. Because it's not an inverter generator the quality of the electricity it produces is not good for charging electronics, but it will certainly charge a battery that will then charge your electronics. I instructed my daughter to buy one as a backup for their home, and just send a link to a buddy who is looking for a generator. LP is less energy dense than gasoline, so it consumes it a bit faster than it would if you were running gasoline, but I'm totally fine with that. I also bought a corrugated stainless steel hose off Amazon ($14) that slipped over the end of the exhaust so I can run it all the way out of my bus. I run common tools in building outta my Skooley and this is just the right KW size. Wouldn't cover the surge required to start a 3hp tablesaw, but does fine for my homeowner quality Rigid tablesaw.
