Great for filling the garden and flower beds
I was given this product to review and put through all its paces. This is a great tool for the right job. It works wonders in a garden and flower beds that have been worked before. I tried using it to create a new bed in clay soil and it took longer than I thought it should, but did do the job. The duel batteries were pretty phenomenal and lasted long than I did in the sun. It's light weight body made it easy to place in my garden beds that has brick boarders. It tilled and weeded the garden in no time. I also like the quick stopping action of this tiller, which is controlled by the handle triggers. This is really helpful when you have to work close to boarders or corners, so not to damage anything. If your a gardener with a vegetable garden and flower beds, this tiller is perfect.

    Enough power, great results.
    My husband really enjoyed using this Cordless Garden Tiller/Cultivator from Sun Joe. He would usually get gas powered, but this really impressed him. It provided enough power to get the soil ready for an 22 foot long planter by our driveway. The tiller was surprisingly quiet and was able to complete the job quickly and easily. I'm not sure how long the batteries last since we have only used it for this job, but they definitely provided the power nedded after fully charged. It was very easy to assemble and star using. Great tool to have, my husband is ready and excited to keep using it.

    No more cord!
    I simply cannot contain my excitement about this Sun Joe Cordless Tiller/Cultivator! For the last 10 years or so I have been flipping a super long power cord all around my 400 sq ft veggie garden while I tilled with my electric cultivator. It got the job done, but added time and frustration. I was skeptical that a cordless tiller could make a dent in my KY clay soil, and when I heard how quiet the motor was, I had even less faith. Well all the skepticism went right out the window as soon as I lowered the blades on this baby! It kicked up clumps of grass that had rooted over the winter, dandelions, and everything else in its path. I didn't get a huge amount of depth with it, but I don't really need it. My garden plot is pretty well established, so I really just need to clean up the top layers and it did a great job of it. I was able to do two complete passes on one charge and it showed no signs of slowing down, so I'd say I could have done another one. It will be so much easier to pull this little machine back out when I need it to remove weeds while the garden is growing. It was almost impossible to use my corded one while I had the garden full, but with this one being cordless and easier to maneuver I think it will work so much better! For reference I am a very petite 40 year old woman.... so if I can run this fantastic little machine with ease then anyone can!

    This tiller works great as a touch up but isn't the strongest when it comes to tilling up new areas of land. All in all the batteries last long and if you have a garden you will definitely find this tool useful.

    This Sun Joe battery operated tiller is an excellent choice for those wanting to cultivate smaller areas. The tiller includes two 2.0 AH 24V batteries with a dual charger. The tiller set-up is easy and took less than 5 minutes. The batteries fully charge within an hour, consistent with the 55 min charge time indicated. I was able to till the area in the photo shown on one set of batteries. Some of the garden is 4 inches, but most is about 6 inches. The tiller is easy to operate and handle. Sun Joe recommends going up and down in slightly overlapping vertical lines and then horizontal left to right to cover all the areas and to keep the rows even. My soil is on the harder side in a few spots and I had a few smaller roots and the tiller didn't show resistance except during those conditions. I had one large, long root and when I hit it, the tiller would bounce. I had to manually dig up and cut out the root and then was in operation again. I also had one smaller root that wound around the tines and jammed the unit. To remove the jam, I waited a few seconds for the tines to stop, removed the batteries, let the unit cool, and removed the jam. I have used a gas operated tiller before and I find the battery operated to be more convenient, even if I am sacrificing a little bit of power. Cleaning the blades after use takes a little time, but will help the unit last longer. I am impressed by the power this battery operated unit produces and admit I was not expecting it to perform as well as it does. I am very satisfied and I recommend this product to anyone wanting to cultivate a smaller area, especially those who prefer battery operated over electric and gas for this operation.

    Awesome product!
    I got this and of course immediately charged it and started using it, I was so excited! After using it the first time I am hooked! It comes with one charger and to batteries. I have sandy/red clay and it worked just fine for me. This is 24 volts per battery and with 2 you can work twice as long. I have to say this is a back saver for me.

    I love this cultivator! Is it going to till a giant new field? No. But.... it does a great job on an existing garden area. It fits between rows and helps keep weeding to a minimum. I find walking backwards makes it easier to use. If it stops for any reason check to see if any stringy roots are wrapped around it. I suggest getting a second set of batteries so you can switch them out and keep working. I got mine with a leaf blower. The blower is awful, but the batteries works with the tiller

    Perfect for small gardens
    I love this small Sun Joe battery powered tiller/ cultivator! It is perfect for my backyard garden. It is easy for me to use and the batteries last for hours before having to be recharged. My shoulders are a little stiff after tilling for a couple of hours but not as rough on a person as using a larger gasoline powered tiller. I leave that to my husband. The only complaint I have is that if you accidentally touch the start button on the right handlebar it shuts off or if you let up even a little on the power bar under the right handlebar it shuts off and it has like a thirty second delay before it starts back up again? But it is so easy to start and use! It was well worth the money I spent to be able to do my backyard gardening by myself. And not having to use gasoline or try to start gasoline powered equipment is awesome. I love it.

    Great tool
    I put it together easily without hubby's help. It works great and makes clearing a garden much easier. The 2 batteries last a long time and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. We have an assortment of the 24v tools and all of them work well and batteries are interchangeable. Good job!
