Not A/C
This is a small unit and is great for a small room. It will not cool a room down ike an a/c. The best effect is when you are sitting close to it. To get the best cooling the back of the unit should be unobsructed and facing an open area. This unit actually evaporates water and you need to keep adding water. Cold water is best. I keep a pitcher of water in my refrigerator. You can also add ice to it. I freeze small blocks. Ice packs don't work very well.

    Sure not for summers
    I was given this as I live in a mobile home with NO AC! I went through my ice like crazy and still couldn't enter the room without dying from heat stroke! I'm a senior and this did not help! And, as somebody mentioned in another review, you cannot empty the water tray as it is not removable!

    Cannot remove the water tank from the fan
    It's hard for your to pour water away as the water tank can't be totally removed from the fan. This is ridiculous. It's also rather noisy when operating.

    It don't cool and no batteries.
    It don't cool the air even with ice in the water and the remote didn't come with batteries.

    loud & noisy
    The fan is loud & noisy even at low setting. not too compact. Water drawer at lower back comes out only 2 inches, yet the handle blocks most of the opening, make pouring water uneasy & have to squeeze in ice cubes 1 by 1. Don't know how one can reach in there & clean it. Blown air doesn't go higher even as I adjust horizontal partitions all the way up, just stays at my upper legs level standing ~ 5ft away. I'm 5'3”. The parts are cheap looking, assembled sloppily. Vertical partition on the outside sways, breaks easily if come in contact with anything.
