Remarkable 4K TV
This is my 2nd TCL 49 inch 4k TV one in the bedroom and this new TCL in the living room. This latest TV included Dolby Vision and great picture for watching 4k movies. The Wamart staff at my local store were courteous and friendly when I picked it up.

ARC doesn't work, no customer support to fix issue
Disappointed. The HDMI ARC does not communicate with my Sony theater surround-sound, so I only have the poor quality speakers on the TV. Contacted customer service and they don't know why their components don't work. They suggested putting in composite cables...ummmm, I guess.

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/10/2019Roku 49 Inch Set. Good Buy For The MoneyWhile it may not be as brilliant or sharp as a Sony for twice the money, but at $400 this is a good buy. Secondly, it will reduce your Bluray player to a point where it will only be useful for playing your DVDs. Smart TV offers all the basic subscription streamers like Amazon Prime, VUDU, Netflix, PBS, Discovery, History, Youtube, to name a few, they're all there, plus hundreds of other sites covering literally every topic you can think of. I do like TCM. Aps are easy to install, move around and uninstall, of which I've been doing a lot as I pick and choose. Just be aware that for many sites you will have to Activate them to recognize your TV by entering a code into their websites using a computer, smart phone etc. As far as Ads, it's your choice to live with the Ads, or pay a monthly subscription fee to avoid them. Sound quality is decent, but if you're an aficionado, external speakers will be necessary. While the mounting brackets are solid, they're 37 inches apart for this set, so if the set isn't wall mounted, a surface of at least 40 inches minimum should be used. At this point, the one negative is the Remote control. It's functionality is as basic as you can get. An upgraded one can be purchased separately.Batjack

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/02/2019Great PictureVibrant color and clarity... the voice operated remote is great !..only shortfall so far is the total lack of written instructions. Pass on this one unless you have computer/electronics savvy....and you don't have HDMI outputs on the devices you want to connect to it.Scotty

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/28/2019A good smart TV for the moneyI bought this generation 5 Roku TV in August of 2019 for $299.00 plus tax. At the time a good value for money considering it is a 4K TV and has Roku build in. Picture quality is good with dark blacks, and responsiveness is fast enough, also for gaming. The only missing feature for me is lack of Bluetooth connectivity for anything else than a Roku remote or a Roku speaker.Peter

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/28/2019True HDR for Xbox One XI was a little skeptical, I bought this as a travel TV for my Xbox One X. I was looking for 50" TV that had true HDR, not active. The guy at Best Buy told me I wouldn't be able to find a TV under $600 with HDR10. Well I guess I showed him! I plugged the Xbox into HDMI 2 and changed the input from Auto to HDMI 2.0. I went into the HDR settings on the Xbox and all green checkmarks! The picture on this TV is fantastic, and the menu is super easy to use as well. I will definitely be recommending this TV!Tiger

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/30/2018Great TV for the price.Great picture for the money so far everything is working great but my Dish Tec. had a problem hooking up my receiver to the TV, he couldn't get it to receive the signal from the box so he hooked my old TV up. I decided to try it after he left and had it working less than 5 minutes after he left by hitting the reset button on the TV. I have a Visio sound bar hooked up with it.Vet

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/20/2018Very good TCL 49S517I found light intensity and contrast very good for this tv. Sound quality much better than expected. Smart TV features very easy to use. I found the TCL company much larger than expected and the tv was rated just below some Samsung models but at half the price. Only had tv 10 days. So far so good.Ron
