Robots in disguise are so cool
I'm 43 and I still love these toys. My six-year-old is familiar with Optimus Prime and has just graduated to this version from the much simpler child version. After working through the transformation, she quickly learned all of the steps involved. Technically, I lost control of it for a few hours because she would not put it down. The truck rolls and the poseable robot stands. What is great is that there are details upon details that keep you engaged. I'm a fan of whomever designed this one. You move and fold so many pieces the articulation is impressive. My kids laughed when I would make the ‘transforming' sound with my mouth. Initially all movements were tight but by the fifth transformation, everything was smooth. The accessories are fun and help with interactive play. Be careful getting the smaller transformers out of the packaging. With the tight fit, I accidentally broke the wing off of the Enerax. The instructions are mostly useful, but it is very gratifying trying to figure it out on your own. It is a great way to share your childhood with your children. PS: I have another one on my desk at work. It is good for a mental break, conversation piece or just something to fidget with when you are thinking.

a lot of work ahead of Hasbro
much better than Earthrise Prime, paint apps and head-sculpt-wise. but still has flaws in blue bicep instead of red. Hasbro needs to pay more attention to detail.

    Bought this one, got an upgraded one by mistake.
    Purchased this one, but an upgraded one came because it was mislabled. Had to give it as a gift so I didn't return it, but hopefully someone checks their stock better

    Autonomous beings! Contort and move with haste!
    Ooh yeah that's what I'm talking about. Here's the good: Very solid figure with some really nice details. Looks amazing in either mode and the process isn't difficult at all to transform. I really like the Matrix of Leadership here. The bad: Optimus himself is great, but his blaster doesn't fix into place. The barrel folds down for truck mode and when you open it up for gun mode it just kinda flips around and you have to be careful or it'll fold back up slightly. The support transformers are awful. The shield isn't bad but the ax. The ax is so flimsy and the second I went to transform it the thing snapped catastrophically. The other two transformers are not worth it at all. Final verdict: awesome figure. Get it now, but get the one with the trailer. Not these flimsy little novelties. Because now I have a useless broken ax and need a trailer.

    Great Optimus Prime, Lousy Box Condition
    Great detail and design of this Optimus Prime. Best one I've seen for a reasonable price. My only complaint is the box came in damaged. I paid almost $50 for this, and for some reason it's okay to send something out in a damaged box. Since it's going to be displayed out of the box I didn't send it back.

    Kool toy, but it arrived broken.
    Okay, I was really looking forward to this, but the package arrived damaged and one of the three toys arrived broken. The detail was so minute because it was a broken piece of plastic, it really is almost impossible to replace, but the main figure was great. I just hate the fact that I got something broken from walmart. I wont take it back because I cant get this locally. And it was hard enough getting it from a store from abroad for shipping. Im not going to purchase this again through this store, and look somewhere else for the item that arrived broken.

    A wonderful addition to the TF figure line
    This sharp reissue of the Transformers Earthrise Optimus is super detailed and articulated. Fun to transform and pose. This version does not include his Earthrise trailer that transforms into a battle station, but the addition of the 2 Weaponizer robots makes up for it. Bonus feature - the chest opens to reveal the iconic Matrix of Leadership. One of the best Optimus figures hands down.
