My grandson cant sleep without his Hippo!
This Lil' Critters Soothing Starlight Hippo by Vtech is absolutely adorable! Since my grandson is not a fan of his crib, I was super excited to get this soothing toy, in hopes that it would make him a little more content while being in his crib. I put my grandson in his crib, turned on the Hippo and immediately he was so fascinated! He was staring up at all the lights projecting off of the ceiling. My grandson actually fell asleep while listening to the melodies. The music is very soothing and I also like that it has the timer and the volume control. When he started to fuss, the Hippo turned back on, soothed him and back to sleep he went! I was so amazed! There are so many different functions on this toy from the various light settings, songs, melodies and nature sounds! I would definitely recommend this Soothing Starlight Hippo to anyone who has a little one as well as anyone who is currently expecting! This would also make a fantastic shower gift! Thanks Vtech for continuing to make amazing products!

voice and timer doesnt work
Does not do what it says. the sleep sensor and timer do not work. Havent worked a single time since i bought it almost a year ago, more or less.

    I wish you could change the sounds it plays. It just automatically changes through them. No just basic white noise option.

    Waste of money
    I thought I would truly enjoy this item so I purchased two at one time. One for myself and one for my boyfriend after getting it home opening it I like the concept of it however it was a waste of money. It does not stay on after each song or story reading the lights turn off and you have to continue to push the buttons for to play. Not exactly what I was looking for I would have liked for it to at least stay on for 30 to 40 minutes and then cut off, Not after each song.

    Battery Sucker
    My 6 year old is autistic and has a really hard time sleeping without something bright in his room that he can also hide under the covers with. This was perfect...except for now that we've had it for a while, I'm absolutely tired of replacing the batteries in it. It goes through batteries it seems like every month. I honestly wish I never bought it because now my boy is obsessed with it and won't give it up for nothing. We've tried different lights and sounds objects but he always goes back to this battery sucking hippo. I don't know...maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I would definitely not recommend getting your kid attached to this thing.

    Highly recommended for babies who love music
    I just received mine today ordered it yesterday! My 2 month old loves music and noise so this is perfect. The night lights are a plus! Keeps him company! He smiled at the hippo! :) Sometimes he cries when I put him down but music soothes him. Grateful for this!

    I just love this item it has several options for your baby lights music nursery rhymes an a sensor that comes on when your baby cries I also loved the price an thank you for delivering it early wasn't supposed to get it til after Christmas an got it the day before

    My granddaughter is loving her VTech Lil' Critters Soothing Starlight Hippo..She especially loves the star show..It's easy to use and contain's so many different features from music to white noise to nursery rhymes...It's also voice activated which is a big plus..It also features a timer which plays 10..20 or 30 minutes of light's and sound's..VTech Lil' Critters Soothing Starlight Hippo uses 2 AA batteries..(2 included for demo only)..When the hippo starts to repeat it's time to change the batteries..(I recommend rechargeable batteries)..I totally recommend VTech Lil' Critters Soothing Starlight Hippo.
